The Space

This house is a cute little bungalow (approx 1000 ft2) in downtown salt lake city. There is one full bathroom, kitchen, dining room, living room and two bedrooms with queen size beds in both rooms. There is a full-sized mattress off the living room that can be put down on the floor. The couch is also able to sleep one. There is a backyard and front porch for relaxing, as well as a gas grill in the backyard. To keep the price down, we have our guests wash and change their linens using the laundry machines conveniently located in the basement.

The neighborhood is quiet and safe. Walking distance to a few restaurants, including some delicious Thai or Mexican food. Walking distance to liberty park (home to our city's aviary). Bus lines run a few streets away (10-20 min walk).

Take a short (20-40min) drive to access the climbing, mountain biking, hiking, skiing, etc along the Wasatch Front, our local mountain range! The Wasatch mountains are home to Alta, Snowbird, Brighton, and Solitude ski resorts on the West side; and Park City, Deer Valley and the Canyons on the East side. Fabulous stream, river or lake fishing can also be found within an hour drive.

Check In
  • This spot fit our needs perfectly. It was easy to find and comfortable. We arrived late, found kitchen well stocked with the equipment we needed to make ourselves a quick meal and then crash into comfortable beds. We'd absolutely stay there again if passing through Salt Lake City. It was as described and what we expected.

  • The place was as listed, Heather was very responsive and communicative. I liked the location of the home, very central.

  • I stayed at Heather's on my way from San Francisco to Denver. My original airbnb host canceled the day before my trip, and heather was able to accommodate me last minute. The house and garden were beautiful.

  • The reservation was canceled 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

  • The place is centrally located and comfortable. Unfortunately we were only able to stay one night. Heather asked us to wash the sheets and towels but locked the basement (where I am assuming the washer and dryer were) so there was a little confusion there. It was easy to tell someone else was there the night before because there were dirty sheets on the ground next to the bed but overall the house was tidy.

  • Great cozy house in an ideal location in the city, very close to liberty park and downtown. Heather was really easy to communicate with and very responsive to any needs. Things to be aware of, that may be already communicated in Heather's description: Heather admits that the wifi is a little spotty, and while it was perfectly fine, the house wasn't as spic and span as some other places that are cleaned between guests to a more professional level.

  • Heather was a very great host, kept us updated with everything we needed. The house is pretty amazing and the locations rocks if you are planning to see the city. I would strongly recommend it.

  • Heather's place is perfect for a good stay in SLC. It's in a great location with access to fun bars, coffee, brunch, beer, and so on. My only regret was that I didn't have more time to explore the city. Highly recommended.

  • Heather's place fit our requirements perfectly. It was conveniently located near the family members we were visiting. The home was cozy and the heater kept us warm during the cold weather. Would definitely stay there again.

  • Heather was a very good host. We had private access to her entire unit for the weekend. Accommodations were clean. It's an older home so the heating/cooling was a little confusing, but Heather provided a guide explaining everything. She also sent us some recommendations for the area.

Overall, good pick if you want privacy, which was what we wanted, but if you want a host who will greet you and spend more time with you (more of a bnb) then this wouldn't be the best pick. We never got to meet Heather, but our needs were met quite well :)

I am a graduate student at the University of Utah. I enjoy many outdoor activities including skiing, biking, climbing, hiking, and camping. Salt Lake City is a great place for me to balance my work and play. I am (email hidden)/liquor enthusiast, and Salt Lake has many great micro-breweries and a fabulous distillery. So do not worry, you can go to the bar or buy booze here in Utah! There will be info in the house manual to guide you on this front. I am looking for people who would like to make themselves at home in my home. I tend to travel whenever possible, and this provides me a way to help with school bills while not letting the house sit empty when people need a nice place to stay.
