Interaction with Guests

Stroll into downtown Asheville on a Friday evening in summer and enjoy the drum circle at Pritchard Park for a bit, before making your way to one of downtown's many locally owned restaurants, bars, or breweries for dinner. Spend Saturday driving the Blue Ridge Parkway, hiking in the Smokies or Blue Ridge Mountains, zip-lining through tree canopy, or take a leisurely float down the French Broad River. Take a brewery tour, explore the Biltmore Estate, browse downtown's shops and galleries, catch a yoga class, get a massage .... The Fellow Traveler is convenient to it all.

You will be able to walk to anywhere in downtown or the River Arts District with ease. The breweries of The South Slope are also close by and an easy walk.
You are welcome to bring bikes or they can be rented locally. There is a bus that stops a couple of doors down.
Cabs are available at the airport, about a 25 minute drive. I am also sometimes able to make pick-ups from the airport for a fee.

Jennifer was very welcoming and made us feel at home. The room and bathroom were very clean and we had no issues finding the house or checking in. Location is great--a 10-15 minute walk from downtown, although I'd recommend getting an Uber if you're returning after dark. Overall, we'd definitely stay here again!
The house was wonderful! The accommodations were fantastic and was in a great location, we would definitely visit again!
Very positive. Beautiful home in a great location. Jennifer provided us with everything we needed, including water and glasses on the bedside table. The room was cozy and thoughtfully decorated. Very comfortable bed, and the bedroom and bathroom were perfectly clean. Would recommend the Fellow Traveler to all!
My very first Airbnb experience was with Jennifer. She welcomed us to the majority of her house as if it were ours...which was something I didn't expect. Along with the towels, shampoo, soap, water on the bedside table, coffee, tea, free to cook. We didn't know what to do, it was new to us. With visit Ashville booklets at every turn, we didn't even need a plan. We threw the itinerary out the window and took a few steps and we were downtown. Which made us very tired and we could return home to our extremely comfortable bed, after sipping hot tea grown by the locals. I was alarmed when I first arrived and didn't see a TV. I should say, I was scared. My girlfriend and I have a really weird relationship, that is based on TV and not each other. So, in other words... it's bad. This no TV phenomenon brought us closer than ever. We were forced to talk, something we haven't done for the past 5 years. We picked up some question cards from a shop in downtown and learned more about one another that night, than we have ever before and we live together. Provided a great foundation for the miles we would endeavor together the next day at the Biltmore Estates. If you plan to visit downtown Ashville (a block away or the Biltmore Estates (few minutes away)-stay here. You will not regret it. Great for a couple to bond and get closer to each other or a single person in need of rnr...here's your spot.
The host was welcoming. The neighborhood was acceptable. Amenities were acceptable. Proximity to downtown is the primary reason to book here.
I enjoyed my stay with Jennifer. Great location, I was able to stroll to downtown in minutes. Next time I head to Asheville I am definitely staying here again.

I moved to Asheville in 2014 and am exploring this awesome place just like you! I came from Durham, NC, where I've totally enjoyed being an airbnb host for the past 2 years. I have a background in theatre and radio, and currently enjoy traveling, visiting with friends, hanging out at home, gardening, and working as little as possible. Come visit me and my 2 cats at the Fellow Traveler--a charming, laid back, turn-of the-century home--easy walking distance from downtown Asheville and the River Arts District.
