Nice room, with lots of space and a great view on this charming street! Michelle was nice, discreet and easy to reach via airbnb. The only negative thing might be that we did not know there was another airbnb room in the same house with a commom bathroom (even though the other room was not occupied most of our stay). Also, if you are sensitive to light when sleeping, I'd recommend taking a sleeping mask with you since the windows only have white curtains. The distance to Manhattan is approx 35-40 mn with the subway, with line 3 pretty close. Nice Brooklyn stay all in all!
We arrived a bit early than the regular check-in time. Michelle wasn't there but she told us over the phone that we can go to the room and the keys would be on the table, which was very nice that we didn't have to wait till 3 to check-in. However the keys weren't there and there were no pillow covers or blanket/duvet, I guess the cleaning lady must have forgot. Michelle later came by to see if we settled down okay and realized all these were missing, then immediately fixed everything. You do have to share bathroom with guests from the next room, which could be a hassle in the morning. Ear plugs are highly recommended since the city could be pretty loud(cars with loud music, neighbour laughing, etc). The area was very clean compared to Manhattan and There's everything in the neighbourhood- good coffee and brunch, juicy brisket and grocery stores 5 min away. It was overall a great experience!
I stayed in Michelle's room for ten days and I have nothing to complain about. It is as spacious and clean as depicted in the photos. there are plenty of local shops in proximity, public transport is also not far to walk to. Michelle is a friendly host. I didn't see her much so if you are looking for a calm, private place I can more than recommend staying at her's.
I did a semester abroad in New York for 3 months and stayed at Michelle's. It was a great experiece, the house was good situated in Brooklyn with good subway connections and nice restaurants like Meme's or Tintos. My room was very spacious and there was everything you need (towels, toilet paper, soap, etc.) the bathroom was cleaned aprox. once a week. Michelle was always there when needed and willing to help. The bathtub on my floor needs a renovation. I can highly recoment this accomodation for short and for longer stays.
Everything went great from beginning to end, the room was awesome, very spacious and clean, the bed is really comfortable, specially if you came tired from walking all over the day. Just a few things to consider, the location is OK, the neighborhood is nice and secure but in our experience was too far from the main attractions, on the bright side the subway is 3 blocks away and going to Manhattan is about 40/50 minutes; another thing to consider is the bathroom, you have to share it with the contiguous bedroom.
No doubt we recommend this place for a happy vacations :)
This is a nice place. Michelle is a very helpful host; she provides us maps and let us to store our luggage before we check in.
