CHECK IN AND CHECK OUT
The time of check in and check out would be flexible in the case if I don't have any guest before or after you. If I have then the check-in time is from 1 pm and the check-out time is before 11 am.
Vida was a very accommodating host, starting with being very helpful by giving me list of alternatives to taxi to get from the CDG airport to her flat. I used one of the companies on her suggested list of "shared van" services and had a very pleasant ride in to the city for €31 instead of at least €70 that a taxi would have cost.
Her husband was waiting in front of the apartment to let me in and show me around. He was very friendly and kind enough to help me bring my bags upstairs which was much appreciated because my foot is broken.
The flat was as neat as a pin, very quiet as it off the street and it's windows face an inner courtyard.
Vida generously had a loaner mobile phone in the flat for guests to use, which I couldn't figure out how to operate as it is entirely different than any I had ever seen or used, but I really needed it when I had a crisis at 9:30 at night and found out my rental car had been cancelled. Their were several people I absolutely had to get in touch with that evening and I pestered Vida for almost an hour with email questions about how to work the phone--make calls, send messages. She was very patient with me and stuck with me until I was able to leave messages enough to resolve my problem. This of course was entirely above and beyond the duties of a host....I thought it was exceptionally kind of her, and generous with her time, to help me with my problem. I certainly hope her future guests aren't as needy as I was. Anyway.....
The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The French doors opened up to let in fresh air but very little noise. The little kitchen had a small refrigerator where I was able to chill some wine and fruit that I had purchased at nearby markets. The flat is quite small, perhaps a bit small for two people, but everything was spotless and it was perfect for my needs. I would definately stay here again.
Recommended! Near center of paris ( pantheon-
Notre dam-saint chappelle-orsay)ecc...Vida is very
Kind and helpful.....the metro is 2 minuts walk from
This apartment is in a great location, and it's super easy to travel between here and CDG Airport. As advertised, it's a small apartment (really, just a bedroom with a separate bathroom and a kitchenette in the entrance-way), but if you're light travelers like we are, it will suit you just fine. The wifi connection was strong, the apartment was clean, and while we didn't meet Vida in person, she was eager to help and always responded quickly to emails.
If you just need a place to lay your head at the end of a busy day with no frills, this is a great pick. I found the bed quite comfortable; the duvet was large enough and the pillows seemed quite new. There are charming markets and restaurants all around, and plenty of stately architecture to enjoy. Notre Dame is about a 15 minute walk away. We only stayed for a couple of days, but the kitchen, which is outfitted with knives/utensils/pots/pans, would come in very handy for a longer stay (there is a great produce market across the street, and a boucherie that sells delicious cured sausages a block away.)
Finding a quiet space In an exciting neighborhood with good public transportation isn't easy; this is it. Vida went out of her way when we had a problem. An old building with character and good security. Tight for 2 peopl, great for 1.
1-Great location! A multitude of restaurants nearby, and its less than a five minute walk, with luggage, to the Luxembourg RER station.
2-Vida was very prompt in her communications so the whole experience was easy.
3-No street noise! Some noise from the neighbors, but this is Paris!
4-Wireless worked great.
1-The place could use a good top to bottom cleaning. Products from several years ago in the shower caddy, old food in the fridge, kitchen cupboards dirty.
2-The bed is adequate, but the top duvet cover is too small for two people to sleep under! And the pillows are quite old. Not an expensive fix.
3-This is a small space. Perfect for one person, cramped for two if you have a lot of luggage.
Vida is very, very nice and responds to messages/questions almost immediately. The apartment is Parisian small but perfectly fine for sleeping. The apartment opens to a small interior courtyard one floor below, but it is still not an apartment where I would want to spend time relaxing and reading a book…guess that is what cafes are for. The lights for reading are not the best for older eyes. There are many stores and restaurants in the neighborhood and a very, very short walk to RER B for those coming from CDG (about 150-200 meters). Jardin Luxembourg is in the same location but why they do not open the park for morning runners mystifies me (perhaps there is only one side open?). I would stay here again though depending upon the season I have found hotels at the same price point in the same area with hotel conveniences. However this apartment has a little kitchen so one can reduce the expenses of Paris by cooking a little meal here.
Vida is a wonderful host! Apartment was clean and nice, we could find everything we needed. It is right near to Pantheon and Sorbonne, 20 minutes walk from Notre Dame in a quiet area.
Thank you very much for hosting us!
Great location in Paris & such a great deal! The apartment was efficient-size, but had everything I needed, including an awesome wifi connection.
Perfect location and great apartment !
