These apartments are located in a lovely historic building that dates back 7 centuries. The apartments have been recently updated in a beautiful style of traditional and antique Italian furnishings updated with modern touches.
The apartment has an unbeatable location directly in the center of town, tucked away in a quiet little courtyard off one of the main streets. You're close to everything but protected from city noise.
Since you will be right in the center of town, you are a 3-5 minute walk from 3 small grocers, 5 or 6 cafes, the main cathedral, 10 restaurants, and a number of shops. It doesn't get more central than this!
Upon entering you will be dazzled by the apartment's tall ceilings with exposed wood and tiles. The living area features tasteful antiques downstairs and a charming loft-level master bedroom upstairs with large double bed. From the balcony windows you will overlook the lovely flower-filled courtyard below.
The kitchen features granite counter tops, a full-sized refrigerator, stove top, bar, and dining table. It is fully equipped with new cookware and serving pieces.
The master bathroom is beautifully decorated in red marble tile with skylight and is equipped with a bathtub + shower, sink, toilet, and bidet. The bathroom features a lovely custom counter built from cabinets salvaged from an apothecary. A new washer is located upstairs in a utility room near the master bedroom.
The small second bedroom offers sleeping for two people in twin beds and has its own private bathroom.
Both bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning and are furnished with all new 160 thread count 100% cotton linens, your choice of down or synthetic filled duvets, and your choice of synthetic or down pillows.
You are only a 5-10 minute walk from the train station or the bus station that will take you to Pisa, Viareggio, Firenze, Cinque Terre, and all over Tuscany and the Garfagnana.
The apartment is independent (not shared with any other units in the building). It has independent heating & A/C, its own washing machine, and access to the elevator shared by the other residents of the building. The garage is private to one of the other residents and is off-limits.

As much or as little as you like! I'm always available for questions, or I can leave you to explore on your own. Whatever you prefer.
Lucca is a wonderful size - it's called a "human-sized city" because it offers the advantages of a large city but with the feel of a much smaller town.
You are right in the heart of Lucca! Within 5 minutes, you can reach every major church, monument, museum, the walls... everything! Plus our street is full of shops, grocery stores, wine bars, a bookstore... everything you need is just outside.
The bus stop and train station are both an easy, flat 10-minute walk from the apartment. There is paid parking within a 5-minute walk and free parking within a 10-15 minute walk. Parking on site is not possible (not even to unload luggage) due to Lucca's restrictive ZTL which limits car traffic to residents. Upon booking, I'll provide you with a detailed PDF that will explain your various parking options.
Lucca is easily reached via train or bus from all of the major airports in Italy (Pisa, Florence, Rome, Milan, Bologna, etc).

My 16-year old daughter and myself truly enjoyed our midweek in Lucca. The spacious and well-equipped apartment in the historic centre of town was a perfect starting point for visiting Puccini concerts and ice-cream parlors. The information supplied by Vanessa and AnnMarie on shops, restaurants and a free parking lot gave us a flying start. The airco definitely helped us to cope with the heatwave. The nice neighbors, who kept the building quit and tidy, completed our sense of "living in Lucca", if only for these few days.
Not only was the apartment unbelievably nice, but Vanessa was quite thorough in both her instructions and recommendations. I had a wonderful stay.
Our family of 4 stayed at Vanessa's place for 3 nights in July. Prior and during our stay, Vanessa awesome at responding to our emails on a timely matter. Even though we didn't get to meet her, she made sure that her friend was there to take care of us with any questions. Lucca is a lovely city, very quaint and easy for kids. We have a 6 years old and a 2 years old. The apartment was really big. Our daughters like running around it. The only thing was the bedrooms are on different levels of the home. It's fine if you have older kids. We had two young ones so we split up with each kid. The apartment had all the amenities and in the city center. Very easy to walk around and get things. Super quiet at night - which was greatly appreciated after a day of wandering around. A huge plus was that there was AC in the house NOT just in a room! This is a necessities if you're traveling in the summer months. Super hot!
All in all, I highly recommend this place for families and couples!
From getting the keys to checking out, everything was perfect. Vanessa had all the details worked out and her friend Annmarie went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. We loved the apartment, the location and the list of Vanessa's favorite places to eat, rend bikes, etc.
Our daughters loved the extra bathroom and their own space to relax in. It was nice to be able to make your own breakfast and dinner in Vanessa's well stocked kitchen. We visited the local markets, got fresh ingredients and had relaxing (and less expensive) meals.
Lucca is a fantastic city to walk, ride bikes on the wall, and of course shop. We can't wait to get back and rent Vanessa's place again.
Our first venture with Airbnb was a complete success and the start of a new way for us to vacation.
Thanks Vanessa for helping us enjoy Italy.
We had a lovely stay at this apartment in Lucca. We were met in the town by Venessa who walked us to the apartment which is tucked into a quiet courtyard yet in a very convenient central location within the city walls.
The apartment is on the top floor, and accessible by a lift which is convenient when arriving with luggage. It is also a very easy walk up and a nice way to burn off a few calories from all the delicious food and gelato!
The inside of the apartment is quite large and spread over several levels, and is beautifully decorated with natural wood ceilings and antique furnishings. The kitchen and living room are especially spacious and perfect for an eat-in meal and for relaxing with a book. The living area has balcony doors that overlook the courtyard and let in very nice natural light.
Venessa has included a very helpful book with a map and list of places to visit, and we found all of her recommendations were very good.
All-in-all a terrific apartment that we would happily return to again on our next visit to Lucca!
Vanessa had her colleague waiting for us upon arrival. She was extremely gracious as we were late arriving after getting somewhat lost on our way to the unit. Despite being very centrally located the street was very quiet, with literally no noise at night
My family and I had a lovely time in Lucca while staying in Vanessa's cozy apartment. It was clean, nicely furnished and plenty of room for our 2 kids to spread out in. It is centrally located to restaurants, markets, and anything you desire within the city walls. We had no problem parking our car in a free parking zone located 10 minutes from her apartment. Vanessa was an excellent host responding to our many questions about restaurant recommendations and Lucca information. We would certainly recommend this spot to our friends! Thank you again Vanessa and Simonetta! :)

About the Host, Vanessa
I love helping other people have a great trip.
Italy has been so fundamental to who I've become, and I want to make sure everyone else experiences the magic while they're here. I'm always glad to help in any way that I can, be it making a dinner reservation, helping with trains or taxis or buses, or just answering questions about your trip. I'll give you all the space you want, but don't be afraid to ask me anything! I have a pretty thorough knowledge of Tuscany, Liguria, Umbria, and Lazio, and a smattering of other parts of Italy as well, so fire away. :)
