Experience Manhattan in a modern penthouse loft with stunning views of the Empire State Building. Enjoy the comforts of a large soaking tub after exploring the city, the conveniences of high-speed internet, and dishwasher.
You'll be staying in a private bedroom in a two-bedroom penthouse loft apartment with very high ceilings. The building is a converted factory building built around the turn of the century and has many interesting characteristics as such—the prototypical Manhattan loft! As the room is a corner room, with the solid pre-war construction, you are sure to have a quiet night's rest. You will also have access to a roof deck, and brand-new, card-operated washer/drawers in the basement that are accessible 24 hrs a day.
The room is a private bedroom in a two-bedroom apartment. This south-facing room has a queen-size bed, an air conditioner, a writing desk, and a clothing steamer. There are several clothes hooks for hanging items, and hanging space in the closet. Four small drawers are also available. Sheets and towels are provided.
You will have the use of the large screen TV in the living room with various entertainment options, such as Netflix. If you'd like to prepare your own meals, there is a compact but well-appointed kitchen. A grocery store and an excellent butcher/fishmonger are also conveniently located across the street. Fairway is a 10-minute walk away!
I will be staying in the other bedroom, and we shall be sharing the use of common areas, e.g. living, kitchen, bathroom.
Interaction with Guests
I usually work from home so I'll probably be either in my room or in the living room. I'm reachable by email, phone, or SMS with any issues or questions.
It's a 10 minute walk to several subway lines (6, N, R) and buses are available within a block of the apartment. It's fairly easy to get a yellow cab at the doorstep since both 23rd St and 2nd Ave are major roads. Union Sq and the East Village, with their vibrant nightlife, are a 15 minute walk. Times Square and the West Village are about 30 minutes walking distance. CitiBike, the popular bike rental program, has a couple of stations a block away. Street parking is possible with some patience but there are several commercial parking lots nearby. The closest is an underground lot right next to the building and is open 24 hours.
Other Things to Note
I also have a policy of not hosting strangers in my home. So, please tell me a little about you, your travel companion and your travel plans — so that we are no longer strangers! You are my guests, and virtual friends, and I hope to see you in person soon.
There is no smoking in the apartment, or on the fire escapes, per New York city law. Please do not bother the neighbors and be conscientious of your noise levels when in the common areas or corridors, especially late at night.
Gracious host. Respectful and considerate. All the privacy I needed for a busy work week in New York. Great decor and place.
Thank you and I'll see you next stay.
Tam's cozy loft was a lovely escape from the slushy, icy weather we experienced in NY last weekend. The space looked exactly as pictured -- bright, neatly decorated and impeccably clean. My boyfriend and I stayed in the guest bedroom, with a comfy bed, clean towels and easy access to the bathroom. The location was excellent; close to the subway and some great bars (check out Taproom No. 307) as well as a short cab ride away from the heart of Manhattan. As for Tam himself, he was warm and welcoming -- quick to offer suggestions about sightseeing and transportation. Chat with him about his board game project if you get the chance! It's really cool.
It was a very good apartment. Tam is friendly and tidy guy. I will recommend to other people.
This is our first time booking and using AIRBnB, and it truly was a great experience. We stayed with Tam for two nights over the weekend. Though we did have to wait a few hours to check in, everything after that was smooth sailing. It was especially nice that Tam had an interest in getting to know us before we settled in. He even made time to take us to east village for Japanese food.
He is super easy going and made our stay very comfortable. The accommodations were comfortable. Its, a tiny, yet beautiful loft in the heart of Manhattan and very close to everything (and lots of good food!). The room was comfortable, temperature just right, and the loft is on the top floor - which is great for the view! Would definitely stay here again when we come back and definitely recommend it to others.
Tam was a great host. He waited at the apartment to greet us even when we were running late and his apartment is FANTASTIC! Very clean, very well decorated and nicely lit, beautiful views. I only regret that we couldn't stay longer.
Tam was a very kind and host, we had a lovely time.
Ans the vieuw was stonning!!
