San Salvatore, originally a 16th century Franciscan monastery, is a 3 storey listed building with garden in the old city of Chania. The Loft is situated on the top floor (2nd) and oversees the Venetian harbour from its highest point, right above the "Firkas" Fortress and Nautical Museum. Guests love it for its spacious open-plan area, the view and the warm atmosphere.
The city centre is 15min away, Nea Chora beach-10 min, the bus station-15min, the airport-30min, parking/tavernas/bars- 5min.
**Kindly note that the apartment is not suitable for individuals with mobility problems due to the very steep stairs (no elevator)

-Two, separate large terraces with outdoor facilities: Private sunrise terrace with panoramic views over the harbour, sunbeds, a swing, coffee table and other outdoor furniture. This terrace is half coved / half open so that you can have both shade and sun all day long. The sunset terrace/roof garden on the other side is open to all residents in both 2 apartments in the building but our guests at the Loft are able to reserve it only for themselves for a surcharge. The sunset terrace comes with more sunbeds and outdoor furniture. Views over Nea Chora beach and Thodorou island together with the pink-orange sunset colours is a "must see".
-Living room, kitchen, bathroom :The loft comes with a recently renovated, fully equipped kitchen, dinning areas both inside and outside, a comfortable sofa that can sleep one person and a new, en suite bathroom with shower that has everything you will need. Bathrobes, towels, toiletries and cleaning products will be available.
-Bedroom: On the split floor there is one king size bed with memory mattress and pillows, (additional pillows also provided) and a big wardrobe for your clothes. THERE IS NO TV, instead there is an entertainment corner with books, board games, cd's, a guitar, music notes, stereo etc.
-Free wifi will be available at all times.
-A/C and central heating are available.
Interaction with guests
Your host will meet you upon arrival and will be available for you if need be. Just give us a call and we will be happy to help you.
Other things to note
-Shuttle service is also available. Send us your flight details and we will forward them to a trusted taxi driver.
-Check in: We expect guests to arrive between 14:00-16:00. If this is not convenient to you,please send a request for a late check in.
-Cleaning fee: This ensures that you find the apartment clean and tidy. However this is not a daily housekeeping service.
-Please don't take the towels at the beach. Bring your own or buy some new. Charges apply for inappropriate use.
- Air conditioning: please do not operate whilst absent.Keep windows and doors closed when turned on.
-Check out:12:00. If you plan to leave earlier or later kindly let us know. Allow us some time to inspect the apartment before you leave.
House rules and information
Free parking is available within 100m of the loft. More free, public parking is available within 300 meters.
Private parking on site is available upon request.
Check in 14:00-16:00 Please let us know of your expected time of arrival at least 2 days before.
Check out 12:00.
There is limited space to leave your luggage before check in or after check out.
Upon arrival, the owner will meet you at the front door to give you your keys and show you your apartment. We will send you arrival instructions with more details a few days prior to your arrival, so keep an eye on your emails.
-You are expected you keep the flat clean. Cleaning products, waste bins (organic and recycling), a vacuum cleaner and more would be available.
Fan, Air-condition, Heating
-You are free to use our electric fan during the hot summer days. Please note that the fan is very effective but it can be noisy!
-The loft has air conditioning (A/c) as well as central heating. Should you wish to use either of them, let us know when you arrive but make sure you have all windows and doors closed.
Entertainment corner (loft)
Books, cds and vinyls are supplied for your entertainment. You can use them, but you are not allowed to remove them from the loft.
Animals and plants
-A female Rottweiler (Circe) lives in the apartment downstairs.
-There are several plants both inside and outside the apartment. If you don't want us intervene in your space, you should water them from time to time.
On the beach
Towels and bathrobes are for use in the apartment only. Please don’t take them to the beach.
When you return from the beach, please make sure to rinse off any sand before entering the loft.
No smoking, no shoes or high heels.
The loft comes with a recently restored wooden parquet floor and persian style carpets (winter). Therefore no high heels or shoes are allowed inside the house.
Smoking is only allowed on the terraces or in the garden. Please don’t leave any cigarette stubs in the garden.
Special caution is needed when walking down the stairs. The external stairs are steep and can be slippery when wet. Always ask for help if you feel uncomfortable.
Fore anything else...
If there is anything you need, such as kitchen utensils, more/new towels/linen, toiletries etc, fee free to ask!
Last but not least…
Circe von Nemean Lion lives here. She is part of the house. She is a very happy and friendly 3year old Rottweiler. She lives inside the house (1st floor) therefore you would hardly ever see her. You might hear her reacting when you enter the front door or climb the stairs but this is how dogs behave in their territory and we can guaranty that it is absolutely safe for you. She plays in the garden early in the morning and late in the afternoon. She has always been very kind to guests and strangers but if you think you might feel uncomfortable with the dog, please let us know in advance.
