Koji was great to stay with. All his friends are really friendly and arty and his place reflects that. So long as you're happy staying with arty people you'll have a great time!
Koji-San! Thank You for letting me stay at your wonderful cozy place, even though we didn't meet in person and sadly we bid a farewell celebration. It's heck of a party. Very nice and unique friends. It's my first time I saw a Okinawan Shamisen! Actually it's my first live show for Japanese Intrument.
Again, Thank You very much!
Koji and his friends welcomed when I arrived in Nagoya. This house is creative and with reasonable price. Here is a great choice for the budget traveler in Japan.
"Minna no ie" is a very nice place with kind people. It is 5-10 minutes walk from station, and room is ok, and you can feel at home in common spaces. I only had a short stay and I was so in a hurry I didn't afford the time I expected to spend there with Koji and his friends. Nevertheless I enjoyed a lot the few times with everyone. It was very nice and fun.
Koji and his friends were super nice! Wish I had more time to talk to them though. I would definitely stay there again if I stayed in Nagoya again.
Some very friendly people thats really chill! More of a hippie kind of people, in a very good way :)
After staying in room 2 (see my other review for more details), I returned to Nagoya and thought I'd give room 3 a try for something different.
It's part of a bigger room, shared with room 1, so you are more vulnerable to whether room 1 is booked and how noisy the occupants are, but I think the kind of people who stay here are generally going to be fairly respectful.
The issue of heat seemed to be less of an issue in this room, although this could also have to do with the temperatures during the times I stayed there. I found the room fine, plenty of room for one, and the bed very comfortable.
One thing to note is that unlike room 1 and 2, 3 does not have access to its own toilet. If there's no-one in room 1, you can use that one I think (I never got to as there was someone in 1 while I was there).
Of course, the hosts were fantastic, and it was during my stay in 3 that I shared a meal with everyone, which might have been my favourite experience in Japan. Thanks to Koji and everyone, hope I see you all again soon!
I am so happy I got to spend a month at Koji's house, it was the most fun time and I am very sad to leave. I was welcomed with loving friendly smiles, and they always went out of the way to make me feel comfortable and fit in. They also made me lots of vegan food and helped me to go shopping (I can't speak Japanese ;( )! The room was a nice size and super clean, and a good location with fast wi-fi.
I am also so happy that my stay was at the same time as Hana chan and Machan's wedding, probably the highlight of my trip in Japan, and the coolest festival I have ever been to!
Thank you so much for everything this last month, and to introducing me to so many beautiful people. I have made so many friends and will definitely be staying here again! I highly recommend this place to everyone :)
Cried all the way on the bus to Osaka because I didn't want to leave. I will see you all again in November... Namaste! xxxxxx
