Sleep in the former railway station in Sommières with your own quiet, sunny room. Our guests are won over by our beautiful buildings, stylish industrial décor, our relaxing garden and our welcoming staff. It’s a unique destination just waiting to be discovered.

The space
We’d like to welcome you to take a very unusual journey by joining us in this former railway station, a last trace of the golden age of the Paris-Lyon-Marseille railway line which we have transformed into a modern, cosy and family-friendly hotel.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire garden (over 5, 000 square metres), as well as several terraces and shady spots, where you can read, chat or enjoy a drink in one of the many relaxation areas. We offer garden chairs, hammocks, loungers and parasols.

The swimming pool area is secluded, with no rooms overlooking it, and is in the sun all day.

Inside the main station building, you can relax in the main hall or on the verandah, which overlooks the garden.

Other things to note
The hotel is accessible for people with reduced mobility. Please do not hesitate to contact us so we can ensure you have a room that meets your needs.

All our rooms include:
• A large flatscreen TV with over 20 channels
• A Bluetooth HiFi speaker
• A desk
• A minibar, or access to a separate minibar in the corridor
• A hairdryer
• An iron and ironing board
• A pool towel

An extra bed is available for a supplement.

The pool is heated from May to October. WiFi is free and available throughout the hotel, in the garden and around the pool.

When you check out, you can continue to enjoy the pool and the hotel gardens even after leaving your room.

Breakfast is not included, and is served on the verandah, and, when weather allows, outside. A sumptuous buffet with home-made cakes is available from 8:00 am to 11:00 am (and breakfast can also be served from 7:30 am on request).

Use of the private parking is free.

Location

Sommières, Languedoc-Roussillon Midi-Pyrénées, France

Sommières is a medieval town, with a history dating back to the Roman era. In the first century AD, under Augustus or Tiber, the Romans built a bridge here, which is one of the few still in use to this day. Just five minutes on foot from the Hôtel Estelou, the Roman Bridge across the Vidourle is a magnificent piece of engineering that has been perfectly preserved. Around the bridge, several restaurants with shady terraces offer a view over the river and the medieval town centre.

Sommières also features:

• a lively and scenic market every Saturday morning which can trace its origins back to the fairs of the Middle Ages. You can take a seat at one of the local restaurants to try the local produce fresh from the market — provided you also buy a drink. We also encourage our guests try this friendly local experience that is full of the warmth of human contact that is so distinctive of the South of France.
• over 200 km of signposted walking routes as well as a ‘green way’ which has been approved for mountain biking by the French Cycling Federation. The green way runs for more than 22 km along the former railway tracks from a starting point alongside the hotel.
• several wineries offering tastings of local Languedoc wines
• a unique location, between the Mediterranean (the beaches of the Camargue are 20 minutes away by car) and the Cévennes, and close to Nîmes (28 km), Montpellier (27 km), Aigues-Mortes (25 km) and Arles (44 km).
• great connections to the Roman villages in the South of France. Nearby sites include the Roman Bridge in Sommières, but also the Pont du Gard aquaduct, the amphitheatres in Nîmes and Arles, which also has an Ancient Art Museum and finally the theatre in Orange.
• a central location from which to enjoy the beaches of the Mediterranean (the Camarge is just 20 minutes away) or outdoor activities including walking in the foothills of the Cévennes, horse-riding on the beach or mountain biking.
