For my first time in New York this was an absolute great location to stay at. The room is exactly as it is on the website & there is local businesses, small corner stores & even a nice cafe across the street to get amazing breakfast. The bed was amazingly comfortable - I would fall into a deep sleep everyday after coming back from a busy day in the city. Majar is a very nice and respectful host. The station is two blocks away and you can get to Manhattan in about 30 minutes. There is cable available so I definitely enjoyed watching some of my favorite shows when there was some downtime. Truly, I’d stay here again & recommend everyone else to do so. You will not regret it! :)

Majars place was overall a great place to stay. The listing was just as described and the location was perfect. Two blocks away from the subway and a cool little place across the street. I would stay here again.

My roommate and I stayed at Majar's place for a month. Overall, I would recommend this place. Pros: -Majar was very quick to respond to our messages -he accommodated our late check in after our flight was delayed -the room had ample space and storage -there was a tv, mini fridge, and a.c. -subway station was a 7 min walk away (about 30-40 min into the city) -cool cafe/bar right across the street -grocery stores were nearby Cons: -The drawer handles were sticky, there was dust, and mini fridge was not clean -bathroom could be shared by up to at least 8 people -there weren't many nice restaurants walking distance

Response from Majar:
This particular Guest I went above and beyond for there very late arrival time. One thing for sure they didn't fall the rules and regulations.... The room was very clean by a cleaning maintenance person. And if you ever see anything wrong please speak on it. Read the reviews they speak they for themselves.

This listing is just as described, the room is spacious and well lit since it's at the front of the house. The mini fridge/tv/coffee table/sofa bed are great extras as well. The bed is very comfortable and Majar provided clean sheets, and an extra set of sheets and towels since my stay was quite long. The room is a good place to come back to after a long and tiring day in the city, where you can just relax away from Manhattan's busy streets. Shared bathroom was clean, and the kitchen has all the basics (including tea/coffee/water cooler provided by Majar) which is good for some people if you want to cook. The neighborhood is not very interesting in general, not many good places to eat or shop around other than the basics. Nonetheless, everything you might need is within a couple of blocks or 2 minute walk (supermarket, laundry, fast food places, coffee shop, pharmacy, etc). The subway station (Halsey stop on the J line) is literally a 3 minute walk, which is pretty much the best thing about the location. The neighborhood is quite diverse, mixed cultures and economic backgrounds, but that might be interesting for a lot of people, including myself. Regardless of the grungy feel of the neighborhood, I actually felt safe all the time. I walked back alone from the subway on many occasions at late hours (3am) and didn't really worry or anything, it's pretty safe if you keep to yourself. This is a bit far out in Brooklyn, so it is obviously not as well served or crowded as other parts closer to Manhattan (such as Williamsburg) but that's just a 15 min train ride away. In general, I would definitely recommend this place for anyone visiting or staying here for a while for work (like me), the commute to downtown Manhattan is about 30-40min and to Midtown around 1hr, but that shouldn't be an issue since the subway is so close to the house. The buses can connect you to downtown Brooklyn or you can Uber in Brooklyn which is not too expensive actually. Great place, thanks Majar for communicating promptly and clearly, I would definitely stay here again when I'm back!

We stayed here over a month and have no complaints. The location is so convenient. There's a subway station, laundromat, dry cleaners, and grocery store within 2-3 blocks. Majar was always quick to answer any questions we had and made us feel right at home. I would recommend 100%
