The house is a little piece of paradise and a memorable place to stay.

Interaction with Guests
Guests make themselves at home and we help out with information and advice about the area.
We live in the house and we like to meet our guests and make sure they have a great visit. It's up to our guests how much interaction they have with us. We put out breakfast for our guests...muesli, tea, coffee, orange juice, breads, jam, marmalade...simple but homely.
Roath Lake, at the bottom of the road is a Victorian landmark and masterpiece. Our corner of Cardiff is a historic area with some classic Edwardian and Victorian architecture and we're near to University Hospital Wales. There's a good shop on the corner for everything too.
It's a suburban area. The local train station is 7 minutes walk and is one stop to the city. Taxi takes 10 minutes to the Centre.
It's our home so it's easy to relax and enjoy your visit. Guest are welcome to use the kitchen to make tea and things. We're happy to supply local information about Cardiff and Wales and help with any forward travel plans guests are making. We usually put out some breakfast in the morning for people to help themselves and we have a spare sitting room which is private and can be used by guests. Most guests tidy up after themselves and leave no traces beyond a friendly visit and a happy stay in Cardiff. Please come and stay.
We had a great time staying with Roy n Ann. Warm hospitality, spacious rooms, I especially loved the bathroom with the window looking out to the backyard...incredible ^.^
Also good recommendation of nice seafood place n other historical attraction! Will definitely recommend to friends >. >.
A beautiful, old and comfortable house to share with Roy and Ann. We simply loved it! Each of us had a separate room, which is a great luxury. I was welcomed with my two teenaged boys and we immediately felt at ease there (by the way, when Roy says "feel at home" he really means it). To wake up every morning with the fragrance of fresh baked bred, this is priceless! The house is very clean, we had everything we needed and more.
Excellent stay. Lovely large house. Fine welcome. Three rooms, four beds ( although we did not use them all. Easy access by bus to central Cardiff. Roy and Annie were delightful hosts. Very interesting people if we lived in the same town I am sure we would see much more of each other.
The house was a little tricky to find, so make sure you do your homework before setting out (or get a good GPS, unlike us!)
We had a great 2 night stay in Roy's beautiful house and a warm and hospitable welcome meant we felt completely at home. The house also gets the seal of approval from our daughter who loved her bedroom and the fish !
The house is in a good location and is close to Roath Park and its facilities.
We would definitely stay here again.
Roy and Anne were really welcoming, and very accommodating of our late arrivals and extras who were looking to sleep on the floor. It was great to speak with them both about their lives and to see the vintage technology on display.
Home-baked bread each morning has been justifiably mentioned by other reviewers and gave us a great start to the morning when we were setting off into some terrible Cardiff weather!
Roy and Anne were very welcoming and accommodating, and the house is beautiful and spacious. Lovely freshly baked bread every morning too!
Roy and Ann were great hosts and made us feel very welcome in their wonderful house. We arrived late at night, and were given a quick tour and told to make ourselves completely at home. In the morning, there was fresh bread waiting for us first thing. Roy and Ann themselves were fascinating to chat to, and gave us some really great recommendations of things to do in the area. The house is big enough that we had plenty of privacy when we needed it, but could also socialise with our hosts. Staying here was a very special experience which we can 100% recommend.
About the Host, Roy
We've lived in Wales for thirty years, working in the performing arts. I am now a dance photographer and my wife is a creative producer. We love to travel internationally, looking for great street food, meeting people and seeing the art and culture of other places and peoples.
