We have a beautiful arts and crafts home near to the city centre, with three spare bedrooms (a double and two single rooms with a spare bathroom and toilet to go with them). Great for a family or a small group of travellers. We have a large mature garden with a 200 year old oak tree, lots of free parking around, wifi, laundry, kitchen, etc. Guests can have another spare room free as a sitting room for themselves. It's a little piece of paradise in Cardiff and a memorable place to stay.
Guests are free to come and go and I help out with information and friendly advice about the area.
There's a good shop on the corner and a superb Edwardian lake five minutes walk down the hill. It's a suburban area near to University Hospital Wales. The train station is 10 minutes walk and is one stop to the city.
Our house is unique in Cardiff as a mellow but lovely arts and crafts design from 1914. It's in fantastic condition with lots of original style features in the house. The rooms are spacious and it has character in bagfuls.
Roy and Ann were fantastic host! Very hospitable and very helpful. They gave us great information about how to get around. They were also very flexible with our check-in and check-out time. The house feels very homey and the rooms are perfect and they also provided us a little leisure room for us to hang out, pretty cool! Great host and recommended.
Roy was very friendly and welcoming. He was more than happy to help us with directions and offer tips on where to eat! We had a very comfortable stay. Would definitely recommend staying here.
Roy is a wonderful host. He took care of us from the first minute, he came get us at the station and took us home, he prepared us nice continental breakfasts and he was super helpful when we needed it. Moreover, he is also a very interesting person, he knows a lot about Cardiff and the country in general and he likes to play the role of the "tourist guide", without being intrusive.
I will for sure come visit him again next time!
Roy was a fabulous host to me, my husband and two daughters. It was a pleasure to stay in such a beautiful and interesting house with such great hospitality ( Roy even dropped my husband and I at the train station and our daughters at the Uni library). The bedrooms were lovely with comfortable beds and a separate bathroom for our use.
When we return to Cardiff we will definately stay with Roy and his wife again as they made us so welcome. I cannot rate our stay highly enough and would recommend it to anyone wishing to have a great weekend in a great city.
My husband, nanny and 2 children had three bedrooms in this lovely home. I often work away and stay in hotels but this time we though we'd try something different.
Roy and his wife were excellent hosts and made us feel welcome. Even had the house a little warmer for us as my husband can't tolerate cold very well. Clean sheets, lovely towels, use of a separate bath/shower and toilet and reception room.
Roy was excellent with my older son, entertaining his incessant questions! He was also helpful with tips for things to do with the family nearby.
There was ample parking on the street and the house is 10 minutes from Cardiff town centre. There is also a decent convenience store a stone throw away.
It's a shame the weather didn't permit us to make full use of the beautiful garden. Nonetheless we had a fantastic time and a positive first experience with a house stay. Thank you Roy and if were ever in Cardiff again we'd love to book another stay!
As the picture has said, this is really a beautiful house to stay. There were 7 of us staying here and Roy has been very welcoming and making sure we have towels and bedding. All of us were very happy and this trip was a good memory to us too.
Roy's house is beautiful and spacious. Booking in is easy as Roy answers emails in a lightning speed.
Very helpful and great hosts. Roy gave us very useful information as where to go and the route. Very easy parking on the street. It's a good base to explore Cardiff as the house is only 10 min drive to downtown.
Thanks for a lovely stay!
I stayed one night in Roy's house with my three friends. We found ourselves in a warm house and Roy hosted us very friendly. He is a gentlemen who had travelled most of the world and has an artistic spirit. His house is tidy, clean and elegantly decorated. I strongly recommend his house.
Roy is a wonderful host. My two daughters and I only stayed one night but he made us feel at home in his beautiful house. The rooms and the beds are confortable and spacious and we had the use of a toilet and a bathroom. The house is at an easy walk from the train station, where you take a 5 minutes ride to the central Queen's street. Thank you very much for your hospitality, Roy and I hope to come back soon to visit.
