Interaction with Guests
I want your time in the Twin Cities to be enjoyable. Feel free to ask me for any recommendations or advice on what to do or see. I love helping guests get a local experience and to show off our city.
Situated in the diverse & distinct "Nordeast" area of Minneapolis, this 100+ year old house is convenient to lots that the Twin Cities have to offer. Located on a quiet street just off of Central Ave, you are steps from many local restaurants & shops that reflect the diversity of the area. With quick & easy access to downtown and the U of M, many attractions are just minutes away. The neighborhood is quiet, friendly, and safe.
Public transit, a Nice Ride public shared bike station (seasonal) and the freeway are close by, making transportation convenient and direct. The #10 city bus line is 2 short blocks away, with frequent and direct service to downtown and the convention center.
Other Things to Note
My girlfriend, Shana, has a small dog that also lives here. Her dog is very friendly and is a hypoallergenic breed (Havaneese).
We're pretty flexible. If you smoke, please do so on the sidewalk and dispose of your butts respectfully.
Use of the kitchen (fridge storage, pots/pans, etc.) is available to guests. Please clean up afterwards.
Help us reduce our footprint on this earth; recycling and composting are available.
No firearms, drug use or heavy drinking allowed.
I respect your privacy and won't enter your room unless absolutely necessary (maintenance, etc.)
Enjoy your stay!
The home was just like the description. Our hosts were great. We loved the proximity to downtown Minneapolis. There are so many things to see in the immediate neighborhood that we will likely be back again soon.
Sam and Shana were amazing. As for the bureaucratics, they supplied every amenity promised, the bed was comfortable, the decorating was tasteful, the only problem with the price is that it is too low. The experience was worth far more than $49, it far outstrips any branded chain hotel and costs less money. There were muffins and coffee galore for breakfast, and there were chocolate mint patties at the bedside.
As for things personal, we were newcomers to the city. It was our first time in Minneapolis, and we will be moving there. Sam and Shana gave us wonderful advice and suggestions and made us feel welcome to our future new home town.
Sam and Shauna were both very warm, welcoming and considerate. I had a minor medical problem while I was was there and Shauna offered to drive me to a pharmacy. They offer coffee and a muffin or breakfast cereal in the morning. I enjoyed conversing with them. The room is comfortable and the house is a charming 100-year-old two-bedroom house. They live in a multicultural neighborhood with well cared for and interesting houses. They also have a cute and friendly small dog.
I loved staying with Sam & Sheila! These folks are air bnb professionals! They have already thought of every need you could possibly have and accommodated for it. The bedroom included tv, guidebooks, toiletries, robes...Such a nice stay! Hope to come back again.
This was our first experience and we were naturally uncomfortable staying in someone's home. Sam, Shana and Chester went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Chester happily showed us to our room. They made us feel at ease. The home is very clean and lovely. The room met all of our needs. Plenty of space. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a nice place to stay in Minneapolis.
Sam was an amazing host ! Very very clean bedroom and home :) our room even had a tv ! Sam also was very helpful in terms of finding everything and giving us tips on where to go. Cannot recommend him enough :)
Sam and Shana were great hosts. Their home was comfortable and we enjoyed good conversations with them. We slept well in the bed and the room was spacious. The bathroom was close and they made it easy to share. We walked a few blocks and had a delicious meal. The neighborhood is quiet and was a delight to take a walk in. The bus to town was easy to catch and the city is easy to navigate. Chester was a sweet addition and will take attention if given but will not bother you if uninvited. I did spend a lot of time petting him and enjoyed him. A great place to stay, wish we could return.
About the Host, Sam
I am an elementary school teacher in Minneapolis. During my free time I enjoy motorcycling, bicycling, sailing, taking in events around the city, and am trying to find my green thumb with gardening. I love this city, and am happy to give any recommendations or local insight.
