Elegant Sellwood 1910 Old Portland Home with Hot Tub

A NEW SLEEPER SOFA WITH QUEEN MEMORY FOAM Mattress will arrive by mid-September so then up to two couples can share in this elegance.

Step up to the huge front porch as you enter this charming 1910 Portland Style home. Before entering the front door, notice the porch swing and porch glider sofa, here is a perfect place to allow the morning sunshine to gently nudge you awake while you drink your morning beverage and contemplate the image of your day to come.

The living room with built-ins has a large flat screen HDTV and DVD player, a sink-into comfortable leather sofa with cushy chairs and a relaxing atmosphere. The large windows allow the sun inside to bounce around the room and nourish not only the striking flora, but warms your heart and soul. Plenty of light and a large table/chairs provides a place to reflect on your day or enjoy an intimate dinner with a special someone.

Your cooking dreams come true in the fully stocked gourmet kitchen with all the amenities. As this is the owner’s kitchen, it is well stocked with spices, cooking utensils, dishes, all appliances you find in your own home. Find a large set of Fiestaware, a Microwave, dishwasher, toaster, blender, coffee maker and bean grinder, electric teapot with a wonderful selection of teas, an icemaker, Foodsaver. wine decanters and bottle openers. Plenty of room to create that special recipe you never had time to try at home. Then take the weight off your feet in the sunny, sky-lighted breakfast nook and enjoy the rewards of your culinary creativity.

From the kitchen, walk out to the backyard to find the gas barbecue grill and outside patio table and chairs. A perfect private spot to enjoy the berries growing from the bushes along the wall or the grapes whose vines surround the back of the house. Here you might choose to enjoy a glass of wine, waiting for your grilled dinner as you get a glimpse the night’s plans while looking over to see the always ready hot tub.

Did we mention the bathroom and the amazing shower? ...Step through the glassed door to the granite encased shower where you find three body sprays and two shower heads to engulf you in an invigorating water melody... Or choose the huge claw foot tub to soak your body to relaxation in the provided bath salts. Better yet, head out the bathroom door to the deck and step down to the hot tub where you can soak in the always hot churning waters.

When it is time to rest, snuggle yourself into the queen sized Temperpedic style bed, under 1,000 tc sheets and quilts, as your head rests on the softness of several pillows. From here, you can be lulled to sleep with music from the tv or watch a late night movie on the premium channels. Or better yet… lie still and enjoy the peaceful quiet of the night. Sleep soundly while the air filtration system cleans any minute particles from the air you breathe while you dream of another day in the lush paridise of Oregon.

Lots of lighting throughout makes this home warm anytime of the year. Motion detector outdoor lights see you coming and illuminate your path around the house. Covered parking in the driveway is yours to use. This positions you close to either entrance to the house. Additional covered storage is available for a bike or kayak/canoe.

  • Rose was lovely, welcoming, and as accommodating as can be. Her home is well supplied with anything you may need to make your stay comfortable. We were able to visit family and have a BBQ with them while staying at her home. The location was perfect for us as we wanted to walk to restaurants, bakeries, stores, etc. I would recommend this listing to anyone.

  • Rose was extremely accommodating, she checked in with us several times to make sure our needs were met and we didn't need anything. The house met all our needs, very clean, very quiet. It was in the neighborhood where our son lives and was a very walkable distance to all amenities. We would definitely consider staying here the next time we visit Portland.

  • Our stay at Rose's Sellwood home was a great experience from start to finish! We'd hot tub each morning and use the awesome shower. The sunlight in the kitchen was a nice start for the day! The bed was very comfortable, and the home open and spacious! The laundry was handy and the carport convenient! Thank you Rose for a lovely time! We'd love to stay again!

  • We came to Portland for one week to celebrate our 10th anniversary. Rose gifted us with a lovely bottle of local red wine and had some pretty flowers for us in honour of the occasion - a very kind gesture from a lovely, caring person.

Rose's home in Sellwood is very comfortable and super clean. We stayed on the main floor and were busy visiting family and exploring Portland so we only had breakfast at home - on the porch with the beautiful flowers in her garden and the sound of singing birds. Talk about relaxation! But the kitchen is fully equipped for those who may be cooking at home.

The house has a lovely little back deck off the bathroom, which leads to the outdoor hot tub in the garden. There's a BBQ out there, but again, we never had time to use the amenities.

Sellwood is so much quieter than Toronto and we really enjoyed all the wonderful coffee places, restaurants and retailers...especially the antique shops! You must go to Jade. The food is divine! And its a short ride to downtown, over the beautiful bridges of Portland.

Rose was very kind and helpful throughout our stay. I'd recommend her home to anyone travelling to Portland.

Thanks again Rose! I hope you found that little heart shaped soap I left for you by the bathroom sink.
    Best wishes, Nadine and Bill

I am thrilled to welcome new friends to my home. I have been in the travel/tourism business for years. I lived in Santa Fe, NM; Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona; San Diego and Los Angeles California; Racine, Wisconsin and Pensacola, Florida. I found a home in Oregon and moved here in 1997 discovering all of what I enjoyed in other places I've lived. I am an advocate for Oregon through my work and my hobbies. I enjoy seeing others discover the beauties of Oregon, especially of my friendly neighborhood. Sellwood is a great place to walk and discover the quaint Portland antique shops or to dine Al fresco at the neighborhood food carts and a variety of wonderful restaurants. Since I love to travel. I am always looking for great places to visit and I have traveled to many countries over the years. Another reason I welcome people from near and far.
