  • This house had everything we needed- we were here for 4 nights and had a blast. There's surround sound in the living room, the hot tub is amazing, and the kitchen was great. Overall awesome experience, definitely recommend.

  • We had an amazing time at Herb's cabin. It was an incredibly cozy place to stay in with a fireplace warming the room and hot tub right outside, especially after a long day of skiing. It more than easily fit 9 people with plenty of sleeping room and while there was a lack of hot water at times, it wasn't too much of a problem. I would highly recommend it if you're headed up to the mountains or just enjoying the nature around the area.

  • Great cabin feel with a cozy atmosphere in a nice location. There were some loose doorknobs and a shortage of hot water, which can be hard with 8 people in a house, but nothing insurmountable or worth getting too worked up about. All in all we had a great time!

  • The cabin was wonderful! Large, yet cozy at the same time. Comfortably slept the 10 of us, with lots of common space to hang out in. The fireplace was awesome, and the kitchen was quite spacious. The hot tub was a great feature to have in the snow!

Great location - close to the beach, and about a 10 minute drive to a nearby Save-Mart for supplies. Ample parking at the property too.

  • The cabin was beautiful and very cozy, fit 10 people very well. The hot tub takes a while to get started but once it did we barely left it while at the house.

  • As advertised. Very cozy for the holidays. Perfect location, great hot tub, great fireplaces, huge kitchen and dinning room, and big garage that easily holds two cars. Couldn't ask for more!

  • What an amazing home to stay in with kids and adults! We stayed for Thanksgiving, and had a wonderful time in the kitchen - it's very well equipped.

The property was warm and comfortable and very central to the activities we had planned.

There are lots of home comforts here, though there was nothing laying around that the young kids could grab hold of! The swing in the kitchen/dining area was perfect for all. We had such a great time. Thank you Herb, for being so helpful and for sharing your beautiful home with us.

  • We arrived to a clean house, just as it looked. Beach nearby (cold water, but we got used to it, great swim!). Hot tub got some good use, and the breakfast bar was just what we needed for our birthday celebration. Definitely recommend the rafting down the Truckee River, despite the crowds, and if you want a high altitude hike, go to Squaw and take the gondola. Weather was awesome - clear, sun. Can't wait to come back. Herb was great. Will go out of his way to make it work for you. Dean

  • Family vacation with adults and kids. Great home with plenty of space. Very comfortable and welcoming, in a good, central location between north shore and south shore. Good lake access just a 5 min walk away to a semi-private beach.

About
I have lived and worked all over the world .. (and still work internationally) but have called San Francisco home since 1992. (so happy to show anyone around the City!) I work in software .. in the 'international health care' industry. Essentially, my company supports patients finding the right doctor *in the world* rather than be limited to local geography or by an insurance plan or group. (so if your a curious about how the U.S. stacks up relative to other countries .. well, I have personally visited 20+ countries and inspected 300+ hospitals and medical centers in the past five years.) I have two daughters: one 12 yrs old (7th grade) and one 21 yrs old (4th yr at Stanford). (I am surrounded by great women!) I am an avid athlete .. mainly in the mountains: snowboarding, skiing, mtn biking, climbing. (so I know all of the great runs, trails, climbs in Tahoe!) I love to cook .. so our cabin has a very well equipped kitchen. (great pots/pans, knives, appliances, etc.) I grew up in a family that owned/operated hotels and apartments .. so: 1) I know how to fix things .. and 2) I appreciate great beds! While most place in Tahoe receive 'leftover' secondhand furniture, I had all of the beds custom-made by the same manufacturer and specs as the Four Seasons hotel chain. (we all spend about one-third of our lives in bed .. so it better be comfortable!) Guaranteed: you will love the beds. ;-)
