About This Listing
Actually it's not a basement, it's a cheap and sweet ground floor flat with east-oriented low windows, separated from our own flat (we live at the first floor) with a private shaded south-facing patio and a great sunny garden.
The cuty bedroom delivers vintage furnitures and a 140cm (51.11 inches) bed for two persons - or only one person if you're a fat guy (but hipsters are always slim… no shit??).
The main room is a kinda-weirdo-laundry-bathtub-dining room. There u can eat, wash yourself and your own clothes (washing-machine included) but u can't really cook… Obviously there's a kettle, a mini-fridge, a little gas hob for tea / coffee / instant-soup making… And a portable stereo with my own playlist! (It rocks, bro!!)
The toilets are down the hall. Sure, they're private but never forget: this is my home including my whole fucking stuff just behind the beaded curtain, dig?
There's also a garage for bikes.
Other services : Live TV by on your mobile device, WIFI/LAN, bikes available (but no fixies!), fresh eggs from my hens, fresh herbs from the garden to prepare the best teas you've ever drunk! I can also cook for you if you're a rich guy.
Dan's place was ideal for my stay in Arles, and I highly recommend it! Clean and comfortable and well-equipped, it's accessed through an arbour of wisteria in the corner of a large garden filled with herbs with which Dan made me a welcoming cup of tea while explaining all that I might need to know (and more) about Arles and the surrounding neighbourhood. His place is located a short walk from the centre of town, and Dan has several bikes available for guests who prefer cycling around. It's also a short walk from the train station, though Dan met me at the station with his car, and drove me back again the day of my departure, which I appreciated. Dan is a warm, approachable person who made me feel incredibly welcome, and went out of his way to make me a super delicious vegan breakfast on my first morning, featuring rice from the region, and more magical tea. I also had the occasion to meet some fellow travellers also staying with Dan at the time, great people who I will meet again further along the road! Overall, a fantastic experience. Thanks again Dan!
Annika and I had a great stay in the hipster's basement of Dan. Dan is a lovely host who gave us great recommendations of places to visit in Arles and its surroundings. Breakfast in his beautiful garden with eggs from his hens, croissants and his self-made marmalade was great and very delicious. If we visit Arles again we would definately book his basement!

Staying at Dan's place was a unique experience. Everything was just perfect: the fresh eggs, the bicycles, the welcome breakfast...the kindness and care shown in every single moment, went beyond all my expectations and made me feel more than a Air bnb guest. I think I won't forget easily how to open an oyster, thanks to Dan! Lots, smiles wine and fantastic food. Dan is a special person and a perfect host!

About the Host, Dan
I'm a musician and photographer, born in 1966 in Arles, FR. My wife Anne is a contemporary dance producer in Montpellier. We live in a house next to your location, but we're discrete and we will leave you alone except if you ask us something.
You can ask us for fresh organic eggs because we have three hens, but they won't disturb you, because they live in a garden on the other side of our house.
That said, Bengali the cat or Hortense the turtle may visit you with curiosity and without announcement during your stay.
