Wonderful stay! Beautifully immaculate home with ample space and amenities. Location was perfect, we loved the neighborhood and found that everything was easy to get to via metro or the Capital Bikeshare around the corner. We would definitely recommend staying here!
Brian and Tim were really nice and their apartment was so clean, fresh and large. Lovely welcome treats. Metro very close and would pass on this place to anyone.
Thank you gentlemen.
Apartment was clean and in a great location. It provides quick access via metro to all of the tourist sites while allowing for a space outside of all the craziness! We enjoyed the district of Shaw and felt it offered us a place to feel like a local when we were tired of the hectic life of downtown.
What a terrific stay! Brian and Tim saw to it that everything was covered. The place was immaculate, there were coffee, snacks, wifi and, best of all, a Metro Smart Card. They could not have been any more accommodating. Oh, I forgot - laundry! I can't recommend this place any more highly. Thanks!
Brian was incredibly helpful with any questions. The apartment was wonderful, cozy, clean, and exactly as pictured. It was close to the train station and bus routes. The neighborhood had a great amount of restaurants and cafes and Brian had a list of recommendations. It was a perfect trip.
Everything was just perfect. We arrived to DC at 8:00 pm the apartment is at 1 block away from the bus stop, we already have the access code to enter the apartment every single detail was tough for to have the best experience. Menu for great walking distance restaurants, 2 smart card (save us 20 bucks), great comfy bed, a kitchen we all the basic you can need, tv with netflix, washing machine and a dryer for us to us (and believe me if you are like is in a long trip you'll use it), super clean bathroom, but like everything it have a catch somedays will be difficult to decide between get out to see DC or stay at home and enjoy the beautiful apartment.
I don't know how my stay could have been any better. The location (in the heart of DC) was ideal--I even found street parking for my entire stay. The highlight was the home. Quiet. Private. Posh. Well appointed. Clean. Comfortable. Ideal. Brain, the host, had every detail thought through...from restaurant suggestions to laundry detergent. I highly recommend staying at their place.
Tim and I are two thirty-somethings who were married in October 2012. I am a regional sales director for medical device company, and Tim is a professional musician.
I grew up in Rochester NY and settled in DC in 2008 after living in South Bend, IN and Owings Mills, MD. Tim grew up in the Chicago suburbs and moved to the area in 2010 after living in Kansas City, Oklahoma City, and upstate NY.
We enjoy spending time with our friends here in DC, as well as in the MD/VA suburbs. Our families are still located where we each grew up, so we also enjoy traveling back "home" to visit.
I am widely known in my circle of friends as the pickiest eater alive, whereas Tim is far more adventurous in the food department! Luckily there are a lot of restaurants in the area that we can agree on.
Our musical tastes are also quite different; I am a fan of 90's alternative rock (and lately more Indie / Electronic) while Tim prefers Classical. Although Tim refuses to see certain bands in concert with me (Smashing Pumpkins) and I refuse to attend any Operas or Musicals, we have gone to several concerts together (Stone Temple Pilots, Tori Amos, Phantogram, Muse...)
As for TV shows, we typically find ourselves watching comedies (It's Always Sunny, Arrested Development, The Soup, Tosh.O, etc.) or certain reality TV shows such as Survivor (my favorite), Big Brother, Hell's Kitchen, and some of the more "serious" shows like Hoarders, Extreme Weight Loss, and Beyond Scared Straight.
