The fairy tree folly proves that all good things come in small packages! We had a wonderful time and Robert was very helpful and friendly. The folly has breathtaking views of Donegal and a wonderful country atmosphere with ducks and chickens roaming outside. The stove provided a lovely atmosphere and there were wonderful candles to light also. There are ample facilities provided including a hair dryer, kettle, fridge, toaster, cutlery, glasses, plates and even a travel BBQ. Our only problem was our stay was too short. We hope to return to the folly in the future. Thank you Robert and Lesley!
The small house was very charming and heating with turf for a non-irelander a wonderful experience. Out in the kraut but really lovely!
Had a great stay here! The view is perfect and even though the folly is small, it has everything you need and indeed a surprisingly spacious bathroom!
Lovely people with lovely dogs, pigs, ducks etc haha! They recommended us a great restaurant where we had a great time.
Definitely recommend this place for your day(s) up in the north of Ireland.
This is a truly special place to stay, and Lesley is a wonderful host. As others have said, the photos do not do it justice. Unfortunately we were only able to stay for one night, but it was the perfect antidote to our busy lives.
Lesley and her husband can provide great recommendations of the surrounding area, and the love they have for their home is vibrant. Instructions for travel were great, and we felt very welcome from the moment we arrived.
Would recommend you get the fire going as the folly can get cool quite quickly- particularly the bathroom!
Overall, we felt very lucky to have had a night at the folly, and would love to return.
Felt so welcome and Robert and Lesley could not have been more kind. You most definitely need a car to stay in this property and the fire was a necessity when there was a storm one of the nights. Really pretty views and compact accommodation with everything you need for a short term stay.
Absolutely beautiful place. May look like a shed from the outside but is a surprisingly spacious room inside! Turf fire made the room very cosy.
Loved being surrounded by veg patches and chickens and ducks running around.
Lesley made a delicious Irish breakfast which we had on the terrace looking over the bay and mountains (before the rain came down!)
Lovely hosts full of tips and information that helped us make the most of our stay. Ards forest park beach was amazing thanks Lesley!
