Interaction with Guests
Bev realized her dream of an eco-friendly “Passive House” (well insulated, triple pane windows, tightly sealed with air exchange unit) with a beautiful dance and yoga studio, by totaling renovating and adding a second floor to a hidden treasure of a one floor duplex. Nestled in the eclectic Woolen Mills “village’ of Charlottesville, her unique home is light filled, roomy and comfortable. She enjoys the sounds of the train and the neighborhood chickens and goats, walks by the river, strolls through the near by cemetery, and weekly shopping in the farmer’s market down the street.
Charlotte, Bev’s daughter, lives right off the Downtown Mall, and uses the yoga and dance studio for her Movement Based Expressive Arts practice.
Bus stop a half a block away
I have an older cat, Zoe, who lives both in the house and outside.
There is no cable TV in the house.
Please NO Pets
NO Smoking allowed in the house.
I will do my best to provide you with a great stay in Charlottesville.
Beautiful and serene place to stay. Windows looked out over the mountains. A blend of simplicity, art, and nature décor matched our tastes and comfort level. Safe neighborhood. Off street parking. Welcomed by host. Recommend and would stay here again.
My boyfriend and I had a perfect weekend getaway in Charlottesville. Charlotte was a great host! Both non-intrusive and accommodating. The house is exactly as pictured, very clean, spacious, with tons of natural light pouring in. We enjoyed the yoga studio for morning practice followed by walks on the nearby riverview park trail. The place was so peaceful. The historic Downtown Mall is about a 1.5 mi walk away, but with the gorgeous weather we didn't mind! Charlotte recommended a couple nearby restaurants with good local fare, and they didn't disappoint. Our only complaint was our stay was too short! We hope to visit again sometime.
We decided to spend our 5th wedding anniversary in Charlottesville. I was looking for a house that was close enough to downtown, trails and Monticello because we planned to ride our bikes everywhere. Once I found this house in the location I desired I realized it was more than perfect. Charlotte was super accommodating, allowing us to check in at 12pm on Saturday instead of 3pm. She met us at the house to "check us in" and show us around the house. In the short time we were there we enjoyed the views from the living room, the CD player (not having a tv was a pleasant surprise, and perfect for reminiscing over our 5 years of marriage instead of veggie out in front of the tv), and the back deck on Sunday morning with a cup of coffee. We weren't able to utilize the yoga studio but for someone wanting extra relaxation during their stay this room would be perfect. I will 100% stay here again if we ever visit Charlottesville again. Location, hospitality and zen.
Really lovely home - super charming, great vibe. Easy access to downtown and all the amenities I needed. Owners were easily accessible for questions, etc. One wifi glitch, responded to it immediately. Highly recommend!!
Charlotte made us feel at home during our stay in Charlottesville. The house itself is very well appointed and centrally located near area attractions. Charlotte was very responsive to our questions/requests leading up to and during our stay. A great experience!
We had a short but sweet stay. Beverly was wonderfully clear with check-in instructions. The place is so beautiful and sunny. A truly wonderful space. Only wish I had had enough time to enjoy the yoga/ dance/ art space. The house is a very short walk from the Rivanna River trail which is lovely and was the perfect cap for our overnight stay.
Charlotte was quick to respond. There is a great book of maps and brochures of local attractions waiting for you. The space is delightful and charming; very peaceful and airy. The back porch is great! Riverview Park is at the end of the street with a nice walking trail. Very convenient to downtown and to major byways if you want do the wineries or Monticello. Quiet spot. Zoë the house cat stays outside, but you will want to bring her in. She is a sweetheart. I would definitely stay again. Thank you, Charlotte!
