About This Listing
I refurbished an appartment and am renting the guestroom. It has a single bed, a big closet, a desk and a nightstand.
I am renting both short term and long term. The room is available long term as of 15/07/2015. Contact me for "Skaaip" and price.
I live in a two-bedroom apartment which was fully refurbished three years ago.
The guestroom I rent, usually for longer term, complemented with some short term rentals in between.
For the longer period requests, I usually prefer to have a "Skaaip" first to check whether living together would work. You can give your "Skaaip" details when informing.
The guestroom has a bed, closet and desk, and is about 10 square meters in size.
Next to this, there is a new kitchen (with dishwasher and gas stove), bathroom, and small room with the laundry machine at your disposal.
Extra matress on the floor is available for a second person if needed.
You have your room for yourself and the kitchen+bathroom+washing machine room are shared.
While you can also use living/dining room, I want to be able to relax there from time to time in front of the television. A good mix usually comes naturally, where sometimes we do things together, but other nights I'm able to spend some relax time in front of the television.
Interaction with Guests
Depends on how much you want to interact and how long you stay usually. When people stay for long-term, it's sometimes nice to cook a few times a month for each other or have a drink in the sofa or in the city center.
There is a bakery at 200 meters with fresh croissants, french & regular bread. Small convenience stores are at 50 meters, with Lidl or Delhaize at about 500 meters walking. I can recommend an Italian restaurant in the neighborhood: La Luna - 9-12€. I will give you a map of the area with all important things noted on.
My appartment is located close to the Simonis Metro station, which is on line 2/6, one of the main metro lines in Brussels. You can use this metro line to come to my appartment from South Station (8 minutes metro). This is also the metro line that goes to Atomium. It's also not far from North Station (there is a busstop 100 meters from my appartment and it takes you about 10-15 minutes to get there. Also tram 51, to St. Catherine, or the busses from De Lijn are close. It takes you about 20 minutes on foot to get to St. Catherine, about 10 minutes by bicycle, and somewhere in between by public transport, depending on the hour of the day and frequency of metros. Don't hesitate to tell me how you'll come (car, bus, plane), so that I can give you some practical advice and tips.
Other Things to Note
Parking in the street is paying, but at 400 meters there are a few streets which are free to park.
- No pets are allowed.
- No smoking inside (balcony is allowed)

About the Host, Wannes
I'm Wannes, originally from the west of Flanders. I studied in Leuven, where I stayed for a few years after my studies. After that, I decided to buy an appartment in Brussels and move there. I renovated the appartment for a big part myself. I have two bedrooms and am usually only renting the smallest bedroom, either for short or longer periods, and occasionally also my personal bigger bedroom or the entire appartment. I worked as an IT Consultant for six years and am now looking for a new professional challenge.
