Located at the heart of Colombia's coffee region, Manizales is a small city surrounded by mountains including the snow capped Nevado del Ruiz. Our neighborhood is quiet and safe and with good public transport. Beautiful landscapes and hot springs.
Great room with a beautiful view of the mountains. It has a double bed, wardrobe space and private bathroom. The room also has cable TV and wifi.
Our friendly family lives in the house, mum and dad who are in their fifties and one brother. The whole family is easy going and very friendly. The house has a backyard with bonsai plants and two aquariums.
We hope to hear from you soon, and we´re sure you will enjoy your stay.
Kitchen facilities are available for anyone taking the room. You can make use of the living room and dinning room as well. Breakfast is included in the price of room and we can negotiate on providing other meals for a small cost. You are welcome to to use our washing machine once a week to do laundry during your stay.
Interaction with Guests
The family will be happy to share a chat and guide and inform you about the touristic places of the city. As well, we can give you lots of advice about where to shop, how to get around, places to eat and any additional information that would help you
The house is located in a safe residential area, with two parks with sports facilities 5 minutes walk away. You will find a bus stop about two blocks from the house and with 20 minutes walk you can get to El Cable, one of the most popular places of the city.
It's easy and cheap to get a taxi anywhere in the city. You can ask my parents and they will call it for you.
Otherwise you can easily access public transport buses within less than 10 minutes walks to most places.
If you feel like walking, most of the interesting places might be found withing an hour or less of walking although It could be hard if you're not use to go up the hills.
Other Things to Note
The house is no smoking but you can smoke outside of the front door.
No smoking in the house. Please respect our home as your own and keep common areas clean and tidy.
OMG: Best stay I had so far, warm, welcoming... With big patience for me and my son - going to Manizales and sharing the house with this family for some wonderful days should be in the roadmap for any visit in Colombia! Big virtual hug to the whole family
We have used airbnb countless times in many countries and the Londoño family are by far the best hosts we have ever encountered. They are warm, friendly, helpful, and a whole lot of fun. From the moment we arrived we felt comfortable and welcomed into their lovely home.
Everything was exactly as described in the listing or better. The family is willing to give insider tips and will readily help with suggestions for what to do. The highlight for us was getting to spend time with them! I wish we could have stayed longer.
Travelers often search for authentic experiences where you get to meet locals and have a sense for how they live. If you want that kind of experience, look no further. You will have a great stay!
The familia made our stay in Manizales very comfortable and peaceful. They all welcomed us with care. We felt very at home !
We had great time of sharing.
We only stayed 2 days but everything was planed for our coming. And every details was perfect. They even convinced us to go to the Termales and thanks to them we had a really nice moment there.
If we come back in Colombia with any doubt we will stay at Londono family !
Thanks a lot
From the first moment on we felt very welcome with the relaxed and super friendly family Lodoño. The house is comfortable and it's located in a nice, safe and quiet area. By taxi it takes only a few minutes to the centre or other nice parts of the city. We had so many nice conversations with all family members and they helped us arranging a great hike in Los Nevados and gave other helpfull tips. Next time we will definitely stay again with this warm and lovely family!
Our trip to Manizales was awesome! La familia Londoño Giraldo was great. We arrived way earlier than expected (7am) yet they welcomed us over to there house to get settled in. They provided us with a nice breakfast and then took us out for a tour of the city in their personal car. After that they gave us many helpful tips for traveling in and around the city. They also gave us a tour of the kitchen and told us to make ourselves at home.
Like the family, the house was lovely. The room and bathroom were very clean. Our hosts provided us with breakfast each morning and also a late evening snack. They also went out of their way to help us book a day trip to Los Nevados and even made sure that we got up on time to make the tour.
Overall our experience was great. The family is warm and helpful and really make you feel at home. We can't say enough nice things about this family. If you stay here, and you should, you will not be disappointed.
Nestor and Luz Marina were delightful hosts. The day I arrived, they took me on a quick tour of the city and made me feel like part of their family. I could tell they were proud of their hometown and wanted me to have the best stay possible. Both are very friendly, relaxed, and available for anything you need and respectful of your privacy too. There is a more-or-less private bathroom just up a few stairs from the room. The house is also a five minute walk from Avenida Santander -- the only road you need to know in Manizales. I really think Manizales is a cool city, and I definitively recommend staying here for short- or long- term.
Plain and simple, if you come to Manizales (and you should), this is the ONLY place to stay. Honestly, I wouldn't bother looking elsewhere
Now, usually when people say, "Make yourself at home.", you think yeah right, folks just say that. Not so in this case because the first thing Nestor told me was," This is your home now." ...and both he and Luzma meant it.
I never felt so welcomed on any trip as I have at the Londoños, and Colombia is my 36th country. It sincerely felt like I was part of the family for my 3 and a half week stay and I'm very thankful I heeded the advice of all the wonderful reviews that were written.
As a couple Nestor and Luzma are very friendly, helpful, super hip, and just great people. I will really miss my upstairs bedroom with all that fresh mountain air wafting through, the Juan Valdez coffee machine, and their superb kitchen. Holy well equipped!
Thank you so much for making Manizales my best experience in Colombia. Wishing you two and your sons nothing but the best and hope to see you again real soon! :)
