Come and relax in the peaceful surroundings of this rural destination. Nestled on the outskirts in the popular Loess Hills of western Iowa the views of nature are sure to inspire. We have built our very roomy home to resemble a barn. Having raised our 13 children here we have some empty space. Grandpa and Grandma's apartment is a very inviting homey atmosphere for any one passing through or planning a lengthier stay in our area you will be happy with our family friendly accommodations & price.

The space
Grandma’s house is just that….it is approximately 1000 sq. ft. (probably a bit more) of what use to be Grandma & Grandpa’s House. With its own parking spot and sidewalk that winds around to a private entrance on the north side of the house it makes for a perfectly tucked away hidden gem.

Grandma’s has a kitchen with a full sized electric oven, dishwasher, and a refrigerator (that is on the smaller side) but seems to do the job.
Bunn coffee pot, because what is life on the farm without a good cup of coffee? Plates, glasses, cups, silverware, utensils, pots, & pans.
Continuing to add to the collection so if you get to Grandma’s and find that you forgot something….you can always run next door there is usually someone who can supply your need.

While we talk about cooking up a meal or pouring a cup of coffee grab it and head to the front porch. It is accessed from the living room patio doors and equipped with a small gas grill and table and chairs.

Living room has a set of recliners that feel great to settle in to a good book if you have been driving all day or a couch to just sprawl out on.
A 32” Roku tv is mounted on the wall and DVD player, where the fireplace is for when the weather changes this fall.

Bedroom #1 is what we call the Barn Room as it is decorated with barn items. It boasts a bed for a KING, a rocker, and a couple of book shelves. The shelves have books of course that you are welcome to read during your stay but they also have movies that can take you back through childhood memories (you can even show your kids what a VHS tape is and how blurry they were 😉). There are also some very great DVDS that are entertainment for the young and old alike.
