  • This was my first time staying on a houseboat and it was a great stay! The location is perfect and everything was easy walking distance. My flight was delayed and I didn't arrive until midnight, but John was super accommodating and still helped me get settled on the boat.

There is a great grocery store across the street so make sure you stock up on drinks and enjoy the sunset on the rooftop deck.

The only downside was that the air mattress would not stay inflated but I'm sure they will get that fixed.

  • We had a great stay on the Orion. The location could not be better. The boat rocks a little and took some getting used to. One of my daughters had a rough time the other was fine. We stayed for two nights. The first was me, my wife and my two young daughters 3 and 6 months. We had room for a pack as play without a problem. The next night we added two adults and there was just enough room. The host has a nice packet of info available and things were clean and way to find.

I would recommend the Orion and would stay again.

  • Orion Houseboat is a sweet lady that needs a little love and maintenance very soon. She's in a great location, very central, very quiet, and we loved coming home to her every evening and having her be our little home on the water while in Boston.
We stayed there with our two kids of three years and three months. With one kid in the queen bed with us and the toddler in a travel bed it was a little tight but cosy. The views and the feeling of living on the water beat a hotel experience easily.
SleepAfloat was great in communicating ahead of time and during our stay.

  • The boat was nice but a little dated. The location was awesome and the ability to stay on a boat in Boston Harbor is unparalleled. We Loved the Roof deck at sunset and in the AM. Bed was comfy! Wi-fi worked well which we read previously was spotty at best. Boat was clean but as I said dated but then again you are on the water. Very quiet and pleasant to sleep aboard and that is what really counts. We would definitely use Sleep Afloat again!

  • Fantastic stay. One of the more memorable holiday stays overall and we travel a lot, all around the world and often in 5* facilities. What Orion may lack in terms of 5* hotel facilities it easily makes up with charm, the fab location and uniqueness - wouldn't have swapped it for anywhere else in town! We traveled with a 6 month old and everything worked out great, the baby seemed to love the gentle rocking of the ocean too. My only suggestion would be better instructions upon arrival (esp. after dark). Otherwise, fantastic stay and easily suited for a young baby in tow too. Rock on, sleep afloat!

  • My husband and I stayed with two of our children for a couple of days on the houseboat Orion in Boston at the end of June. We liked the unusual apartment and to fell asleep with the movement of the waves. And the location of the boat was great, an excellent starting point for excursions in Boston. Check-in and check-out was uncomplicated but I regret that there was only few personal contact besides the emails. However there is one big con: the equipment of the kitchen on board is quite poor and the bad in the "living room" isn't ver comfortable.

  • It was magical! We love Orion. Great roof top view. nice rocking motion to put us to sleep after a long day. Very clean. Great location. We walked everywhere.

  • Spectacular location at Lewis Wharf, a short walk to the North End and Quincy Market. Breakfast each morning on the back of the houseboat with friends was wonderful. A little bit rustic, everything there that you need. One bed. One sleeper sofa. Air matress (tight fit). Looked for blankets the eond night which were waiting for us when we returned. All in all, a beautiful three days in Boston.

  • I hesitate leaving a review, because I don't want too many to know of this wonderful place. The craft is surprisingly large and comfortable and the decks provide wonderful spots for relaxation.

The Orion has a nice sized living room, kitchen, and bedroom. All have real closets and places to store you luggages, shopping, and food.

My only criticism is that the furnishings are a little worn and dated. Everything else, including the host and management, are 100% ship shape!

I cannot imaging staying in a regular hotel in Boston again!
