Bedroom and den in my retro-modern home await you. While here, you're at home.
I'm 30, from South Florida, a medical student, and I speak fluent English and Spanish. I can manage to communicate in Portuguese and Italian with a little patience. I moved to Lawrenceville because I like the convenience, and what the neighborhood has to offer. When I'm not knee deep in research, though, I listen to all sorts of music that will never make the Top 40, eat, cook, run/bike, and when I can, concoct adventures around town. If you blasted Britney Spears around the house, I might cut you. Otherwise, I'm basically a very open-minded laissez faire kind of guy.
I'm looking to rent out my spacious second floor bedroom + den/office and shared full bathroom in my 1900+ sq ft Lawrenceville home. This is enough space to fit four crouching adult elephants (which are not included nor welcome. They'd never make it up the stairs.) The room also has fresh paint on the walls, and new wood floors installed in late July 2013. Furnishings included: a queen sized futon, a dresser, a bookcase, desk + chair, nightstand, hangers, fans, window AC unit, space heater and plenty of other bedroom accoutrements if you want or need them. My fairly renovated house has 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, plenty of storage space in the basement, washer/dryer, nicely furnished living room/dining room/kitchen, small fenced in patio/garden, and a chimpanzee butler named Mr. Bubbles instructed to exclusively wear baby blue tuxedos.
The house is located right behind Children's Hospital on Sherrod Street. You would be a couple of blocks from bus routes that take you directly to Shadyside, East Liberty, Oakland, Squirrel Hill, Southside, The Strip, Downtown, Northside, The Waterfront, and beyond. Best of all, you would be in the middle of the Lawrenceville's and Bloomfield's brand of bars, restaurants, art, music, coffee shops, denizens, bicycles, tattoos, pot holes, yuppies, hippies, hipsters, punks, ex-pats, pre-pats, street cats.
Rates would include a bedroom, den/office, a shared bathroom (with my excellent other roommate), and utilities (electricity, gas, water, internet).
Note: The Street View functions on airbnb other map sites are out of date by 5 years in my neighborhood.
Essentially, don't go all Lindsay Lohan or Charlie Sheen on my place. That means, have a great time. Feel at home. Use the living room, dining room, kitchen, basement, and patio. But me mindful that this is my house and I live here too. Clean up after cooking, etc. And, please, no smoking indoors, although e-cigarettes are okay.
I deeply enjoyed my stay and was glad the location was so close to the city. Accommodations were to my liking and I found the ambience very welcoming. The kitchen is great, we cooked on a number of occasions . Christian was very responsive and accommodating of our needs.
Our host was very nice overall. He replied to our messages almost right away and was very helpful when we got to his place. He helped us with our bags and showed us the place. Our room was clean and tidy and he had fresh towels for us.
All was fine but the space heater was not enough to warm up the room, we only had one blanket that night and it was cold. I am sure this is something he can solve next time. We talked about it.
Christian and his girlfriend Dana were exceptionally pleasant and easy to deal with. They really helped me out with a last minute reservation which meant I was able to stay in a very beautiful house in a great location. I can't recommend staying with Christian highly enough.
Although we haven't met Christian in person due to our late arrival, everything was perfectly organized and went very smoothly. Christian's house is very nice, our room was tidy and comfy. Cat that lives in the house was cute. Neighborhood is quiet and quite pleasant. Recommended!
We only stayed at Christian's house for one night, but everything went perfect and we had a good time.Christian is a great host and his roommate is very friendly and welcoming as well. I would definitely recommend his place, when going to Pittsburgh. Great neighborhood.
We had a group of friends in town and could not accomodate all of them at our house.... so we found Christian's place on airbnb. It was our first experience with this type of thing and my friends really enjoyed staying at Christian's. They had plenty of space and privacy and really liked that it was walking distance to all the shops/restaurants/bars in Lawrenceville. Christian was quick to make arrangements for our stay and respond quickly over email. I recommend here if you get the chance!

I'm a recent medical school graduate from the University of Pittsburgh, and a homeowner for 4 years now. I live in Pittsburgh's Lawrenceville neighborhood because it resonate with it's unique sense of self. When not studying my face off or doing neurology research, I am always trying to find worthwhile activities around town. It can be live music, biking, working on my garden, checking out local art, foods, cocktails, exhibits, etc. I try to fill my time with things that are subjectively meaningful.
