Arthouse Salamanca is perfectly positioned,
situated at the quiet cul-de-sac end of Salamanca Place, Battery Point, next to Princes Park.
A minute’s walk and you are in the heart of Salamanca with galleries, restaurants, cafés, bars and the famous Saturday market. Arthouse is on the doorstep to the major waterfront festivals, MONA FOMA, the Wooden Boat Festival, Taste Festival to name a few!
It is a three minute walk to the waterfront docks where you can jump on the boat to Mona, Peppermint Bay, and Derwent River cruises, or perhaps an aerial view from a seaplane.
Watch the boats come in as we are only 500 metres to the Sydney Hobart finish line.
Everything is within walking distance of the historic city of Hobart
It is a 20 minute drive from Hobart airport and
1½hrs drive to Freycinet Coast.
A further 2.20hrs drive to Launceston and a
3hr drive to Arthouse Bay of Fires, our beautiful seaside beach house.
Other Things to Note
The house could not be more perfect, both in location and character. Apart from the convenience of the situation, so close to the Wharf area, restaurants and shops, its aspect looking out over the river gives a dimension of spaciousness and a sense of being well and truly in Hobart. The house itself, with its heritage backbone, is charming in every way. It has been renovated with an eye to comfort as well as style, and I deeply appreciated the efficient and unobtrusive central heating. It is above all, a home, with all the convenience and thoughtfulness that one would put into one's own home. And gorgeous to boot. I could not recommend it more highly - it even has proper reading lights, so often missing even in 5 star hotels and resorts.

We expect our guests to treat our home as they would their own, to love and respect it. Unfortunately we cannot have pets and children under the age of 12. Non mobile babies are fine.
No smoking please.
Clear instructions were provided for access to the house and the kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked with essential supplies.
Location was ideal with easy access to lots of good restaurants and plenty of places of interest within easy walk.
Unfortunately, the large CSIRO vessel 'Investigator' was docked at the warf below which cut out a big part of the view to the river.
Overall, we had a very comfortable experience in a beautifully decorated and well set-up house.
It was a beautiful house in a fabulous location. It was as described and everything worked like clockwork. Genevieve went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Thank you.
Arthouse Salamanca is an oasis in the heart of Hobart. The beds and pillows are so comfortable, the natural light is beautiful, there are fantastic art books with cosy reading places. It's difficult to describe the attention to detail in this beautiful home, from the artworks (with some notable surprises) to the fixtures to the furniture to the soaps and the coffee, everything is perfectly selected and thoughtfully placed. There is no clutter. Oh and the main bathroom with its rought sandstone and wood, is stunning. Our gorgeous host went out of her way to make us feel welcome. You won't want to leave!
The Art House is the most lovely place I have ever stayed. The house is an architecturally stunning haven with beautiful finishes and quality products. The location is perfect and the thoughtful provision of basic ingredients in the kitchen was so surprising and very much appreciated. All round a 5 star experience that was totally worth the extra money.
This is an amazing space. It is very satisfying to have your resting place be an oasis of engaging art and design. The kitchen was excellent. Good pantry and excellent facilities. The very friendly and helpful neighbours must be counted a wonderful addition to the whole experience. Michael and I give this property our wholehearted endorsement. Thanks Genevieve.
