Overall Guest Satisfaction

  • I spent four nights at Captain Ryan's Duplex in March. The apartment is cute, clean, and very comfortable. It was a great place to recover from jet lag and call home base while we explored Seoul. The duplex is in the center of Seoul, so it's easy to get around and see the sights. We mostly relied on the subway, which is just a few blocks from the apartment.

  • We lived here for about two weeks, the place is pretty comfortable ,organized and cozy.the kichen has full supplies ready for use.the bathroom and washer machine are just great. Most importantly ,the place is very convienent for living .There are several small marts and restaurants near by and the metro station is within walking distance.Overall,we had a fantastic and memoriable time~

  • My friend and I enjoyed our stay at Captain Ryan's Nest. The neighborhood was quiet and the location was perfect for us. The building is on a main road so it was easy to catch a taxi. It took us between 8-10 minutes on foot to get to Samgakji Station (lines 4 & 6) and about 10-12 minutes to get to Namyeong Station (Line 1). Many attractions and neighborhoods are easily accessible via these lines directly or with minimal transfers. The apartment was clean and had all the amenities we needed to make it a comfortable two week stay for two ladies. Captain Ryan provided lots of information for us before we arrived including but not limited to: various ways to get to and from the airport and how to use the amenities inside the apartment. He was very easy to communicate with and easily reachable before and during our stay. We are glad we chose his place and we would happily do it again.

  • Captain Ryan's duplex was great to stay at, and Ryan was a fantastic host as well. We found the place clean and the neighbourhood safe, and enjoyed the floor heating very much as well (since it was so cold when we visited). The duplex is a little on the tiny side, but it was sufficient for two girls with two luggage cases. Ryan was quick and prompt to respond to inquiries, and I found it easy to contact him whenever I had any questions. All in all it was a very charming little place to stay at, and I will definitely choose this again when I go back to Seoul for another visit!

  • Hi, all. Stay at Captain Ryan's place was great. He was a responsive and resourceful host. Very helpful. Will think of returning his place next time. Not the biggest apartment. But really cosy.

  • Ryan is a great host! He is prompt in responding to my queries prior and during my stay; i'd difficulty with the heater and he came personally that morning to attend to it. The loft is at a convenient location- quiet, not too busy, yet surrounded with numerous eateries and even a supermarket just opposite the road. It's a mere ~10min walk to Samgakji station which easily connects you to anywhere else! Taking a cab from Yongsan station (where e-mart opens till midnight) costs less than 5,000won. The loft is fully equipped and in a clean, same condition as what we see in the pictures. There is only floor heating to be used during winter; which takes while to warm up. Size should be sufficient for 3 pax, any more and it'll be uncomfortable. Loved the cosy mattress rest on the top level as it felt very cosy.... only thing it lacked was a strong reading lamp. Will definitely be back to stay at this loft the next time i visit Seoul. Thanks Captain Ryan!

  • Ryan's place is a very nice, new, clean and neat apartment with everything you need, just like how it looks in the pictures. About 10 mins walk to 2 subway stations (Namyeong and Samgakji). Lots of restaurants and eateries around, convenient stores nearby. There's a korean chinese restaurant nearby called 홍마반점 serving super good jjamppong. Just 1 station away there's a big mall called IPark Mall (at Yongsan Station) where you can do grocery shopping in Emart to luxury shopping in department store. Too bad I only found that out on my last day and i got no time left to shop after going to Emart. The apartment is small though. 3 people accommodating would be just nice but will have some difficulties finding a space to put 3 luggages. Ryan is also very helpful when i needed help. I will definitely stay there again if i'm going back to Seoul.

  • Captain Ryan's place is well situated and very accommodating. We will definitely be back!

  • Simple, clean, comfortable :)

It was really spacious for someone travelling alone. I enjoyed the loft.

Note that if you are really tall, you have to be careful when you wake up - you might hit your head because the space on the upper floor between the mattress and ceiling is quite small.

He also provides toiletries - towels, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, etc - and also has a nice-sized kitchen. Good enough for me!

The location is pretty good too. I like that it's easy to go both north and south of the Han River - almost anything is within reach in 20minutes.

If you have time, take a cab to Seonyudo Park. SO WORTH IT. Cab fare should be approx 10K won.

Also, I suggest taking taxi from the airport - to haul your bags up and down the stairs after exiting the station will be a bit of a challenge.

Ryan is really nice. He responds quite promptly, and I got to meet him on the last day.

    Thanks for everything!

  • Ryan's place is nice and cozy, well provided and everything was in good working order. Comfortable working space for 2 persons with huge baggages, 3 would be a tight squeeze though. A safe neighborhood.
Ryan was very helpful throughout our entire stay, liaising with us via email, checking to make sure we have arrived safely, and arranged for a van for our departure to the airport even when our request was pretty last minute. Great stay.

Nearest subway station is samgakji station, abt 10-15 mins walk. Main entrance of the building turn right towards the flyover, and head up a long flight of stairs. Keep walking straight, u'll hit exit 8, walk further down and and u'll see exit 5,6 which are the more convenient exits of the subway which leads directly to the blue line to myeongdong area.
