Villa Anggara is a modern and peaceful 3-bedroom family-friendly villa, and an ideal holiday destination for families and groups. Close to Ubud's town centre, yet far away from the noise and hustle. Come, relax, unwind and soak in the views in Ubud's best-kept secret location!
Are you looking for an amazing family holiday in a private luxury villa that caters for families? Look no further! Villa Anggara is a beautiful and peaceful 3 bedroom villa located in Ubud, the cultural capital of Bali. The villa is the perfect holiday destination for a family or group, as unlike most holiday villas advertised in Bali, we actually ‘live’ in ours! While it may look like a hotel, it is actually completely functional and designed perfectly for living, as well as looking amazing!
Villa Anggara is simply stunning! As soon as you walk through the double wooden doors you look straight through to the rice paddies beyond the sparkling infinity pool and all the way to the ocean. Views like this are extremely rare in Ubud and are simply breathtaking. Our beautiful outdoor area includes comfortable pool loungers and a large, extendable outdoor lounge (it can be made larger than the one seen in the photos by adding two more pieces). There is also a beautiful 8-seater, 2.5 meter long solid Teak dining room table and chairs, hand crafted from a local workshop - perfect for large family dinners!
The Villa is ideal for young families, as we have two bedrooms in the main house that are joined by an open plan kitchen/dining/lounge room. The beautiful wooden and glass cantilever doors open right up to let the breeze and views flow through the house, but unlike many other villas, can also be locked up securely at night. This kind of accommodation is highly sort after in Bali, as most villas offer separate rooms that open only to the outside and often have an unfenced pool in-between. This often means you either need to lock your children into their own room at night or have them sleep with you. Our third bedroom is a separate private guesthouse, complete with a stunning outdoor bathroom and the best rice field view in Bali! It truly must be seen to be believed!
The Villa comfortably sleeps six people, however two bedrooms have ‘Super King’ size mattresses (200cm x 200cm) and can easily sleep a couple and a child if needed. The third bedroom has a King size bed. All three bedrooms feature excellent air conditioning, super-comfortable pillow-top mattresses, high-quality cotton linen, lamps and overhead fans. The master bedroom even has a small garden planter box in the ensuite complete with a pet frog! We can also provide a highchair and a cot available for babies at no extra charge. Please let me know if you need either of these in advance.
The kitchen comes with a large refrigerator/freezer, water dispenser with hot and cold water, a freestanding oven and many kitchen appliances. It is not advisable to drink local tap water in Bali, so we provide unlimited safe drinking water in the Villa, and our housekeeper will also place a fresh jug of water in each bathroom every morning.
If you are coming with children they will love it! We have lots of toys, books and pool gear and also a pool fence! So you can relax while they play happily in the backyard. The peace of mind that a pool fence offers while renting a private pool villa is invaluable, and very rare in Bali!
The Villa is equipped with unlimited Wi-Fi Internet access (2 Mbps ‘Speedy’ ADSL) for all your connectivity needs. There are two brand new flat screen LCD TVs in the Villa and Guesthouse, complete with Indovision cable TV subscription. This features a large number of familiar English-speaking/Western channels.
Our housekeeper Ayu will come six days per week to clean and make up the rooms. We have a washing machine on the premises so if you need anything washed please just ask Ayu and she will do it for you. If you would like we can also arrange for our wonderful nanny Wardi to look after your children for a little while so you can enjoy some quality time out. (Please note this needs to be arranged in advance and may incur a fee payable directly to her). We also have two night security guards who alternate daily to keep the Villa secure at night.
We can also arrange for a private cook to come and prepare a meal for you if you desire. The food ingredient prices are local and very affordable and her services are very reasonably priced. If you would like to know more, please send me a message.
Villa Anggara is located in Banjar Sala (near the Maya Resort), just a 5 minute drive from the centre of Ubud and set amongst jaw-dropping jungle, rivers and rice fields. The private setting is intentional and ideal, as it can get very busy and noisy in some of the main touristy areas of Ubud, with lots of motorbikes and scooters! We love being a little bit away from the traffic and up in a peaceful and tranquil surrounds. There are plenty of quiet roads nearby to walk on and enjoy the views, or if you are keen you can even walk through the rice fields.
Taxi’s and drivers are relatively easy to organise. We drive ourselves everywhere and if you are interested I can arrange a car rental for around 150,000 – 200,000 rupiah per day ($15-20). Motorcycle rental is around 50,000 rupiah per day. Whilst it looks chaotic, driving in Bali is not too difficult once you get used to it, or we can arrange a driver at a very reasonable day rate. There are some great drives and wonderful places to visit around Ubud.
I can also arrange for an airport pick up for 300,000 rupiah. This is suitable for 4 people or possibly 5 if a child can sit on someone’s lap and it also depends on how much luggage you bring with you. If you need two vehicles the cost will double.
There are lots of activities close by in the Ubud area, such as: Yoga, dance, down-hill cycling, Agung river rafting, volcano tours, hiking, kite-making, cooking classes, massages, spa treatments and local town tours. If you are interested in any of these things please let me know and I can advise where you may find them. There is a little shop at the end of our road that sells quite a few of these packages and you are welcome to stroll down and take a look.
Ubud is famous for its melting pot of cultures, traditions and culinary delights, there are so many wonderful restaurants and warungs to choose from. The food ranges from local Balinese, Indonesian, Asian, Western, Italian, Mexican, Indian, German, Japanese, Fine Dining and many more. The town is renowned for its arts and crafts, and many of the nearby villages consist of countless artists' workshops and galleries. The local markets are a whirling fusion of ancient cultures, traditions, art, crafts, food and local delicacies mixed in with the 21st century and modern designs. It is a must see when you arrive and a fascinating place to visit!
Please let me know if you have any questions about our beautiful villa. Have fun planning your trip to Bali!
Interaction with Guests
We will be away for most of the duration of your stay, however Wardi, our wonderful nanny, will be available to be your host and help you with any questions, queries and needs. She speaks perfect English and is more than happy to help guide you during your stay at our home. Our housekeeper Ayu will also be available each day as well as Dayu, our cook, if you desire. I will be available via email every day so if there is a problem I can also help. We have a wonderful team at our Villa and there is nothing that we can't arrange!
Beautiful home in the rice fields. Accommodations are first rate with every thing one could ask for - bedrooms, baths, wifi, patios and pool. Great staff! Dayu is a wonderful cook and a lot of fun. Ayu, is very friendly, helpful and efficient. Nick, the driver, is knowledgeable about the area around Ubud, got us to the best spots to see and eat and most important, made the visit fun with a great sense of humor. The location is quiet, with the exception of the morning crowing of the roosters and the quacking of the ducks, but it is a much more pleasant way to wake up than the sounds of motor bikes. If you are willing to walk, you can viit the villages or even Ubud, but Nick I available at a very reasonable cost. Fabulous time for us for 3 days - then on to Amed for a week.
This villa is simply fantastic. Owners actually live in there when not renting it out, so it's not "built for tourists only" property (as most of Bali villas on AirBnB are). We were lucky to stay there for 10 days, and that was a delight.
Home stuff is friendly, delicate and almost invisible, but they can help you with anything — transport, information, communication with locals — and their English is really good.
Villa has it's own maid girl, gardener and even night watch. And a little pet frog mister Bintang in a master bathroom :) But don't worry, he is shy and lives in a flower pot — not wandering around at nights.
You will actually need to hire motorbikes or a car, villa is located in a secluded area in 5-7 minutes by bike from the Ubud's main statue (and a supermarket). We are big fans of motorbikes, so that was a positive part for us too. The road is winding, so if you're not so comfortable with driving, I would recommend to hire a driver (stuff can organize it for you).
Bedrooms are huge and far away from each other, you can stay there with another couple and you won't hear or trouble anyone.
It's so much better to live in a such a private and "liveable" villa than in a hotel! Everything is well thought of, and Jen (the owner) is really communicable and helpful.
And of course you will love Ubud :)
