The house is NOT hanging off the side of a mountain where you can only be in the house or on the porch. That was just not what we wanted. We are constantly upgrading everything so we have a quality home to visit when you are not there.
We chose this cabin and the area because it is close to entertainment, minutes from the National Park and Cades Cove, but in the quiet of the woods. We also decided the views over the mountains was not worth not having an area to walk around. If you have the giant views, you drive up to a property and walk into the house and cannot get out and explore.
Swimming Pool nearby in summer months. $5 per day per person. Can go and come during the day and also has a catch and release pond beside the pool
Interaction with Guests
We are always available by phone or email to answer any questions.

The home was beautifully put together and was a great place for a small family get together. We were looking for a relaxing quiet place and this home is high up some hills with very few neighbors. There are a couple of great little towns nearby and easy access to stores. Martha and Peyton were very helpful. I would recommend the cabin to anyone looking to get away from the city.
The lodge was beautiful. Exactly as described. We had a great vacation and Martha and Peyton were good hosts! Thanks for a great experience, we plan on visiting again.
I rented Bear Creek Lodge for my sister's 55th birthday. There were 7 of us and one infant. The house was very clean, except for some stains on the carpet that would be usual I suppose at the end of the season. The kitchen was fantastic! Nothing lacked. There was plenty of open space for everyone to have privacy and gather together in the great room. Unfortunately the temperature was in the 90's and it was a little too hot to be outside on the wonderful porch. We used it early in the morning and into the evening. We saw wild turkeys and watched frogs jump into the pond. You need to be fit to walk the mile down to the open road and back again because of the steepness of the road. But I was able to see more wildlife that way and could hear bear in the distance. Take their advice and arrive in the daylight!! It is easy to miss where you need to go.
Martha and Peyton very well explained everything in the welcome letter. They gave me the attractions which were close to to the cabin. The house was so big and fit all members of our family.
Great house and wonderful setting. The cabin is huge and has everything you need. We really enjoyed our honeymoon there and we are missing the place already. Nothing can't be improved because everything is perfect!
Martha and Peyton are great hosts and very attentive. We highly recomend this place to you.
We stayed at Bear Creek Lodge for 5 nights at Christmas. I can tell you that Martha & Peyton's description of the cabin was accurate in every detail. There were no surprises. The photos are exact to what you will find. The place was immaculate. The kitchen was stocked with everything and anything you would need. The quality of the cabin and supplies was excellent. The towels were thick and plush, the bedding was cozy and the couch was roomy and comfortable. Each bedroom had a roomy bathroom. The jetted tubs were huge! The balcony was wonderful with two tables and several rocking chairs. The location was remote and peaceful, yet easy to get to main roads and attractions. All in all, it was a great experience and we thank you.
We have taken early retirement to enjoy life and travel. Bear Creek Lodge is a source of pride for us and we work very hard to be good hosts to all our guests. Peyton loves rebuilding old cars. He has a 1939 Master Deluxe Chevrolet streetrod and Martha has an original red (phone number hidden)SL convertible with hardtop. Martha loves entertaining, walking, water aerobics, and time with our 2 sons, daughter-in-law and granddaughter.
