The building itself is a dated Japanese apartment building built in 1971. Once you step inside this private apartment you’ll see a sharp contrast from your first impression outside. The interior of the apartment was newly renovated.
The apartment itself is a spacious thirty two square meter one bedroom apartment (a lot bigger than most of the tiny studios in Tokyo!) and gets plenty of natural sunlight. There is a traditional Japanese style bath and shower. Utilities and high speed internet with wifi are all included, as well as all the other amenities to make your stay comfortable.
Our apartment’s location is the ideal base for exploring Tokyo. Our property borders Hinokicho park in Roppongi Tokyo Midtown and we are only a one minute walk from the entrance. Roppongi Tokyo Midtown is home to the Ritz Carlton Hotel (that’s how great the location is!) and a plethora of chic eateries and upscale bars. Our apartment offers fantastic transportation access as well. We’re only a five minute walk to Roppongi Station and Nogizaka Station. But if you want to enjoy the urban landscape by foot, Omotesando (Tokyo’s fashion district), Harajuku (street and pop culture Japan), Roppongi (nightlife and entertainment) are all within easy walking distance. There’s a large supermarket located in the Tokyo Midtown development, as well as ATMs/banks, Starbucks, restaurants, and boutiques.
ART, FOOD, CULTURE:
The National Art Center which is a massive venue with changing art exhibitions is only an 8 minute walk away. They have exhibitions of local artists with many interesting and unique pieces from all over Japan. From the apartment you can also take a leisurely stroll past Nogizaka shrine and continue on through Aoyama Cemetary which has beautiful sakura trees that blossom every spring. The road takes you down Omotesando dori which has some of the most unique architecture in the world. Continuing down Omotesando dori you hit Harajuku which is the epicenter of Japanese pop and street culture.
For you epicureans wanting to experience Japanese cuisine, you can easily walk to some of the best ramen, sushi, udon, and teppanyaki restaurants in Japan from our apartment. Just let us know what you’re interested in and we can help you out with your itinerary. We’re locals and can help you get off the beaten track.

***The apartment and neighborhood is extremely safe at all hours. There are many families living in the neighborhood. We also have a 24 hour onsite building manager in case there are any emergencies or problems.
The restaurant, convenience store, bank, grocery store, coffee shops are only few blocks away from the building.
Coming from Narita Airport, you can take either the Airport Limousine Bus (3,000 yen) to the Ritz Carlton Hotel at Tokyo Midtown and walk five minutes to the apartment. Or you can hop on the Narita Express train to Tokyo Station and take the metro subway to Nogizaka station. My friends and I stayed in two apartments in this building. The rooms were large enough for us and were very clean. The building was centrally located and had a great park/mall complex nearby. It was also a very quiet area. The portable wi-fi was very helpful and it worked fine work us.
We got to meet Nick on a chance encounter one afternoon outside the apartment. We told him we were on our way to check out Shibuya and he totally surprised us by giving us a lift there. Not only did we get a ride but also a mini-tour of the surrounding neighbourhood. Would definitely stay here again.
Nick is a great host. He was very helpfull and show us some interesting places in Tokyo.
The appartment was very confortable, clean and well located near Roppongi where you can find many bars, nightclubs, restaurants...
Thank you Nick !
This is my first backpacking, We are very happy to live in such a nice apartment.
Apartment is very quiet, very close from the subway station, situated next to the park and shopping malls, convenience stores, a very comfortable bed ...
Nick is also very caring us. Thanks a lot!!!We plan to go next year!!! ｡
We stayed as 4 guests while my sister and her boyfriend visited Japan. It is quite close to Roppongi Station, only about a 10 minute walk, and a beautiful walk alongside a nice park at that. The location is central and yet on a quiet street so no disturbances. The unit itself was very clean and the furnishings relatively new and quite comfortable. The bathroom was clean and all gas and electric devices worked properly.
The host was very kind and helpful in emails and I was sent a well -laid out webpage with all the directions and information particular to this particular unit. It made it very easy to get to the building, even on foot without the need of a taxi.
We would definitely stay here again when visiting Tokyo. Thanks again for being such a helpful host. Cheers!
Well located and the price was right but ... It's clearly not a bnb, and lacks the spirit and charm that usually makes the airbnb experience so great. This apartment isn't someone's home. It's a furnished apartment in a run-down building rented out by the landlord because he can't find enough tenants. It's pretty much a gaijin house (look it up), as proved by our experience of being woken up at 4 a.m. by foreigner tenants in another apartment on our floor who obviously thought that they were the only tenants so felt it ok to have a late night photo session in the hallway while blasting Nirvana music. You should have seen their expression when we surprised them by opening our door and telling them to shut up. Almost made the interrupted sleep worthwhile.
Kurt thank you for your feedback! While it's certainly not the case that there would be any difficulty finding tenants if we chose to given our prime location (land values in our neighborhood are the highest in Tokyo), we are very sorry that another guest caused a disturbance and woke you. We always ask our guests to be considerate of others and we've been grateful that almost all of them have been very kind and considerate. It's very unfortunate that this outlier experience occurred and colored your experience. We do hope you can visit Japan again.
It was great stay for us. Very centrally located, 4 mins to ritz carlton hotel and galleria mall/subway. Hosts were very helpful and accommodating. It was super helpful that they provided us with pocket wifi!!!!! Place was spacious and cypress flooring in toilet was a nice touch and novelty. Definitely recommend staying here!:)
I was traveling with a friend and she also rented a 1-bedroom apartment from Nick in the same building. The apartments were similar, and our experiences the same: though our 4-night stay was adequate, we would not choose to stay here again. We realize that the price was low so we were not expecting the Ritz, but we are both world travelers and have rented dozens of apartments in several countries and these two were disappointing. The apartment is exactly as pictured, but there were a number of small things missing that could have made our stay more comfortable and enjoyable. For instance, there were no hooks in the bathroom and the one small towel rack was insufficient to hang a bath towel, let alone two towels (for the 2 people staying in the apartment). We ended up having to drape our towels over the kitchen chairs to dry, which made the already small space look cluttered and messy. The kitchen was not stocked sufficiently to do any real cooking, and I was annoyed that the inside of the microwave was dirty and the sponge provided was dirty and needed to be replaced. (There was also no towel rack in the kitchen.) The bathroom sink was so low that it hurt my back to lean over so far to wash my face--and I am only 5'2". The building itself was old and had seen better days and the common hallways were a dirty, dingy drab gray. The bed was comfortable, however, and that was the most important thing.
We very much appreciate your feedback Rebecca. We have taken your suggestions to heart and will be installing a towel rack, adding kitchenware, and have replaced the sponge in addition to instructing the cleaning staff to double check to make sure that all appliances are sparkling clean. We're glad that you enjoyed the new bed. Thank you again for the feedback!

Konnichi wa! Hello from Tokyo!!! I love to share with you the beauty of contemporary Japanese culture. Having backpacked around the world I know first hand how it feels to be in a new country and to immerse oneself in a new culture. I'm inspired by those little details that we encounter everyday but often get overlooked in our busy lives in Tokyo from signboards to toy designs to building architecture. I would love to share with you our passion for art, Tokyo street culture, and local cuisine!
