Enjoy the college town fun without the hassle!! This home is located in an older suburban neighborhood with big beautiful trees! It is within walking or biking distance to campus, Kirkwood (the fun, trendy street with great shopping and restaurants), and Bryan Park (complete with lots of green space, and a big fancy pool). You can park in my driveway, and you are about a 5 minute walk from catching the Bloomington Transit anywhere you need to go.
The room has 2 very comfy twin beds with memory foam toppers, and a totally empty closet with hangers and shelves to store your things.
You'll stay in a clean, colorful house with a gracious host, who can direct you to all of the fun things Bloomington has to offer. You will be provided with a continental breakfast, and for other meals, the kitchen is well stocked with cooking tools. Feel free to save $ by cooking for yourself whenever you like, as long as you clean up afterwards. You'll have access to a washer and dryer, you're also welcome to borrow a bike, and feel free to hop onto my wireless internet. The house comes with two very friendly kitties (the door is kept closed, so the cats do not go in your room.)
To get a little tour of the space, you can check out my youtube video: go to youtube, and then add this to the end: /watch?v=NI0vrrJk_qc
There is no curfew, but please be sure to enter quietly if you come home after 10pm. You'll enter the house through the "mud room," and please take your shoes off there, so that the main space stays clean. Please no guests without checking with me first. Please do not eat foods from my personal stock without asking, and of course, please respect the space by cleaning up after yourself.
Very good experience. Would stay with Sandy again.
Neighborhood was nice, quiet and convenient to my daughter's house, who is an IU college student (3 min drive), so this listing would be great for IU parents like me, who do not like staying in hotels. My mother in law stayed in a hotel and paid $500 a night (it was graduation weekend!)
Sandy was a great host. Really cool. Nice house right near the campus. Friendly cats!
Sandy was a great host. Her house was clean and comfy. Great location- it was within walking distance to the IU campus and culturally diverse restaurants.
Sandy was such a great host! She was really fun and the pie she bakes - it is fantastic! The place is nice and cozy, and the location was superb. It was within walking distance to almost everywhere :)
Sandy was a fantastic host. Place had all the amenities as listed, and she was super understanding of our last-minute request (same-day). Price was right, place was super clean, and the host was extremely pleasant. If I ever come through Bloomington again, will definitely call up Sandy!
Sandy was an amazing host, the house was clean, and very well kept. Only about a 15 minute walk from the IU campus which made it really convenient for my trip. She had breakfast options and was easy and quick to respond on communication prior to check in.

Hello! I am a dance studio owner here in Bloomington, and also work at a local nonprofit. I live with my partner Brenden. I am a friendly, social person, and have always loved hosting people in my home. I love hiking, and I can give you tips about fun places to explore. I am into music and dance, and can definitely give you the low down about nightlife here in Bloomington.
I have actually done more travelling abroad than here in the U.S., but I am looking to change that. I really want to see Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, and the beautiful national parks in Utah.
I am an avid reader, and read every single day. Some of my most recent favorites include Life of Pi and Middlesex. Feel free to borrow a book while you are visiting.
I am happy to either be hands-off and give you privacy, or else to hang out with you in the main space. I am a busy person, though, so you may find yourself with a lot of quiet relaxation time.
