My stay with Dennis and Paul was amazing! They have created their own paradise and it is absolutely beautiful. I fell in love with the pictures when I saw them on the site, and the place was every bit as beautiful and relaxing as I thought it would be. It was tough to leave!
Though it is in the middle of the jungle (part of the charm) and about 15/20 minutes drive to nearest small town, it is a good location for viewing everything to do with lava: the volcanic national park is about an hour drive away, and close by you can enjoy a natural hot pool and the beautiful rocky coastline with tidal pools and waves breaking on the rocks. Be sure to ask Paul about his favourite spots on the coast! I would also recommend that you arrive before it gets dark, because then their place gets a bit more difficult to find, the first time around. I would definitely recommend this place, and hope to return sometime!!
Best. Birthday. Ever. We can't stop raving about Dennis an Paul and their magnificent home and hospitality. They had wonderful birthday cake for Judy and celebrated with wine on the lanai. They regaled us about their art work and off the grid design. Petra and of course, miss Felicia were the sweetest of four legged hostesses and we loved them up appropriately.
Their home rivals the finest hotels, art museums, and gardens and Dennis and Paul made us feel like like old friends. We have 4 more days on our two week trip and this may be the highlight. Their recommendations for things to do such as snorkeling and eating were spot on.
Wonderful Hosts. Very helpful. Great tips. Magical Zen-garden. Lovely Location. Everything as expected or better. Looking forward to be their guest again!
Mangolay was remote and lovely. It is in a beautiful setting and is a beautiful place. We enjoyed our stay, though my wife was in the middle of a bad cold and spent most of the time in bed, it was a comfortable bed. There were amazing bananas and lovely papayas. The clickit frogs sang us to sleep at night. I found the temperature of the pool was perfect for swimming. The crocodile embedded in the patio was fun.
I'll keep it short: there is nothing that we didn't like staying at Dennis and Paul's amazing home.
The rooms were clean, the bathrooms was spacious with 2 showers (one outdoor shower), the garden is simply beautiful and hanging out by the pool is just what you need after a day exploring the island.
We definitely recommend staying there and we are looking forward to coming back soon!
At first we struggled finding the location but as soon as we´ve got there, things just kept getting better and better. This place is absolutely stunning and as my mother used to say "we felt like Hollywood-stars"! The pictures can´t even keep up with the reality of the beauty of this place! Dennis and Paul gave us a very warm welcome and provided us with everything we needed including a lot of useful information about the surrounding area. Everything was clean and all the facilities listed were there. We would definitely recommend staying there and regret that we didn´t have the opportunity to stay longer!
I haven't laughed this much in a long time. Dennis and Paul are delightful hosts and I really enjoyed their company. A beautiful home with wonderful dogs. My only complaint is they wouldn't let me take miss Felicia. Thank you for the wonderful stay!!! And watch out for the golf balls!!!
