This is not a hotel, so while we will make you feel welcome, do not make demands like a customer. It is a privilege to stay at this house.
I had stayed in this place in December, and I came back because I felt like at home.
This was a great alternative to staying in hostels. This still has a community component but the amenities are much nicer and the housemates were very accommodating.
Victor was awesome and very helpful. He invited me on his team for a Dodgeball fundraiser tournament (so much fun!), and graciously accepted defeat in the poker fundraiser we played in, for which I was the Grand Master Champion.
The house was clean, very modern and in a great neighborhood.
I'd recommend this place to anyone who's never been to SF before as it's been a great way to meet amazing talented people. I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in town (if available).
My stay it Victor's was great! He has a great setup for people all over who are looking to meet other entrepreneur's or developers.
Simply incredible.. Nice, clean and a great environment. Excellent if you move to San Fran to make your startup come true.
I had a great time staying at the Startup Basecamp. Though I only stayed for a night, I still got to meet and hang out with some really interesting people, from all over the world (Australia, Denmark and more!). You really get a lot more out of the Basecamp by staying at least a week, as I heard they do things like pitch nights, and mentor connections. Everyone that was there was staying at least 2-3 weeks, some even up to 3 months.
The place was really clean and comfortable, and the kitchen was stocked with anything you need to cook some meals. The bed was very comfortable, and I had to share a room with one other guy. Each room is named after a startup/company (Airbnb, Instagram, Zappos) which is a nice little touch.
I really enjoyed hanging out in the back garden which is quiet and comfortable, as well as the rooftop patio which has an amazing view of the city!
The next time I'm in San Francisco, I'm definitely coming back to Startup Basecamp, and staying much longer than just 1 day.
The Start up base-camp was not just a great place to stay, it was a great experience.
The base-camp is set up so young entrepreneurs can come to San Francisco, work, network, find office space, talk to investors and, of course relax and have fun. Personally I work in sales for a well established company (Ping Identity, (website hidden) - Enterprise Identity Federation, check it out). I was in San Francisco for a conference and wanted to extend my stay a few days. The base-camp was ideal. The Wi-fi was great, everyone was respectful of those who were working during the day and everyone hung out in the evening.
My favorite part was the diversity of people who were there during my stay. There were people from Australia, Finland, Denmark, Belgium and then me, from Boston. We all shared ideas on our respective business ventures but also traded stories of culture, aspirations and the future. Although I was the only person without a technical background, I was asked for my opinion on sales practices and marketing material. We truly learned from one another.
As for the house itself, you will not find anything nicer in this price range. The building was newly renovated, plenty of space, killer kitchen, clean bathrooms, all around A+. You will most likely being sharing a room but for the price you can't beat it.
Just around the corner there are great places to eat, best pizza place in san fran, all day breakfast joint, indian and some great pubs. There's also a health "green living grocery" store within walking distance which has everything you need for a longer stay. Public trans is easy and accessible so you can also go anywhere in the city for a couple bucks.
I have stayed in a handful of Airbnb joints across the country and none have been as enjoyable, entertaining and educational as this spot. Highly recommended for anyone traveling to or interested in San Francisco.

About the Host, Victor
I am an entrepreneur who has experienced the pains of finding affordable housing here in SF and was fortunate to stay in some great spaces for startups and entrepreneurs. Now, I'm excited to be able to pay it forward!
I am passionate about social entrepreneurship, conscious capitalism, b-corps, and I'm a tennis fanatic & USPTA certified coach-- I'm happy to give you a tennis lesson if you come visit :) I also just became a Crossfit coach...free intro classes for beginners at the gym!
Having stimulating conversations with guests/hosts has easily become one of my favorite things to do. The people who stay and who host are all amazing! I love hearing and telling stories through airbnb and can make some pretty delicious guac, pizza, and anything vegan.
