Interaction with Guests
I will not meet you during your stay. I will not be home. I list rooms in my apartment on Airbnb because I travel internationally a lot. As I will not be home I will not be able to offer you any interaction in person. I am always available to you via Airbnb messaging should you need anything or have any questions.
My caretaker checks in my guests and cleans my rooms, he will meet you to check you in and answer any questions you may have about the apartment.
There is a guide in your room of “things to see and do” I have listed some restaurants, pubs, and some local attractions.
My caretaker is available to you should you need anything or if you have a question, all you have to do is call him or message me on Airbnb. :-)
We are located right in the heart of Dublin city centre so you have easy access to shopping and restaurants (Henry Street, Grafton Street) and sight seeing destinations like Trinity College, St. Stephen's Green, and Temple Bar. The apartment could not be more centrally located.
It is just a 1 minute walk to Dublin's historic O'Connell Street, so Dublin city is on your doorstep. It is a short walk away to most major bus routes, the Luas, Taxis, and Connolly Station (serving Dublin DART and national Irish Rail routes).
Other Things to Note
I will not be home during your stay, you will not meet me. My caretaker will check you in.
My caretaker cleans the rooms after every guest checks out. He cleans the common areas and the bathrooms daily.
Fresh clean bedding and towels are provided for every guest. If you need more towels, just ask my caretaker :-)
I provide clean budget rooms for a budget price. Better than a hostel, but not as fancy as a hotel. You are staying in a room in an apartment.
You must call when you arrive to the apartment complex, this is absolutely mandatory. I do not have a front desk or reception like a hotel would. You must call, this way my caretaker knows you are outside of the apartment complex to be collected, check you in, and give you keys. If your mobile phone does not work in Ireland, please use a payphone to call.
There will be other guests in the apartment during your stay, you are booking a room not an entire apartment. Your room is not shared, the apartment is shared.
The shower, toilet, and sink is shared between guests. There is a lock on the bathroom door for your privacy.
Sorry, there is no kitchen or living room available for your use.
There is no clothes washer or dryer available for your use. In my “House Manual” section you will see I have provided the address and contact information of a laundromat near my apartment.
You will have to walk up stairs to get the apartment and to the room, there is no elevator.
Sorry, I can't store luggage before you check in or after you check out. In the “House Manual” section you find contact details of a tourist office near my home who provides this service for a small fee.
There is no "free" or "guest" parking available. You will find the address and contact information of a parking garage nearby in the “House Manual” section.
If a 3 people are staying a single foldout guest bed will be provided for the 3rd person.
Check in is from 2 p.m. to 12 a.m (midnight). No guests will be allowed to check in after midnight as my caretaker does not work after midnight. Once you check in you can come and go when you please. Check out is anytime before 10 a.m.

We never met the host but the caretaker was friendly and very helpful!
The facility was not very neat and the bathroom filthy on arrival. It took me about 20 minutes to get rid of all the grime in the bath before we could make use of it.
Gute Unterkunft im Zentrum von Dublin. Nicht weit bis Trinity oder Temble Bar.
Caretaker showed us around the apartment and was very friendly. The location was great, and the apartment itself was very clean. Overall we had a good time here.
We were only in Dublin for 24 hours and this was exactly what we were after. Nice room, comfy bed, and big bathroom. Everything that was described! :)
The host was not present when we arrived - this airbnb was clearly part of a business in which the owner does not intend to ever meet her guests. Marco was friendly and he explained the complicated key system, but he probably could have given better instructions as to where to meet, as there are two doors on two different streets to the building.
The description was NOT accurate: the bath mats are not the same and there is significant neglect in the apartment - the toilet bowl looked like it had never been cleaned and there was damage to the walls, i.e. paint peeling. There are so many keys which actually makes it feel like an unsafe place in which to live - there were four keys to get into the room and because the doors are not self-locking, this could be a fire hazard.
The tea in the room was appreciated but expired. There was a mystery container of a white substance which was not labelled but presumably sugar. There was stagnant water in the kettle which smelled rancid and made the entire room stink. The towels were so rough and crunchy that they gave us an unwanted exfoliation. There was hair on the sheets. Due to the kettle smell, copious amounts of air freshener had to be used to make the room liveable. To be frank, it smelled like the past guest's uncontrolled body odour. Furthermore, paint was peeling in the bathroom, the bathtub was grimy, and it did not invite us to take a shower. The mop bucket was presumably filled with bleach which constantly sat in the bathroom. The wooden crate used as a bath mat was black and dirty. And because it did not soak up any water, it made the bathroom all wet. There is no window covering in the bathroom, so you will end up flashing a Dubliner. There was no fan in the bedroom and it was roasting hot. The curtains are orange and let in light in the morning. The cups were stained and gave the impression that the entire place is dirty. We could not wait to leave.
On the other hand, it was centrally located. However, it felt like it was in a shady neighbourhood. Dublin is scary. There was a bearded man waiting for someone to open one of the many doors in order to get in, presumably uninvited. There are far too many stairs. While the outside of the apartment looks nice, the entire place resembles student living. The rubbish bin was unlined and looked sticky inside.
If you are staying there for extended periods of time, be prepared to dispose of your own rubbish. Also, all the rules are rather threatening, such as to not enter the kitchen under any circumstances. The key return policy is not well thought out and would make other guests feel unsafe.
Overall: we would NOT recommend this place to any person with basic standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
It's a very comfortable and convenient place to see around Dublin. Thanks for offering such a good choice for short stays of foreign visitors.
The room was perfect for our one night stay in Dublin! Everything was super clean and professional. The location was perfect for what we wanted to do in the city.
