Spend your time in NYC in a one-of-a-kind brownstone apartment in the middle of Manhattan! A block from Union Square, near all subway lines & right on Fifth Avenue, this HUGE apartment comfortably fits four & makes the city your playground. You won't find another like it!
Built in 1842 and serving as a former Victorian hotel, this apartment has unique detailing - such as two original fireplaces - but has been updated with all of the modern conveniences, including air conditioning, a washer/dryer & more. Enter through the vast lobby to a sprawling, original staircase, enjoy 14' ceilings and a quiet, rear-facing apartment that can serve as your comfortable haven from the hustle & bustle of the lower Fifth Avenue shopping district, just steps away.
You'll have access to everything in the apartment; shower/bath, kitchen, and in-unit washer/dryer. Note that I have a small, lovely, self-sufficient cat named Malfoy who could stay in the apartment if you'd like a pet companion during your time here! (Otherwise, he'll stay with friends or be boarded.)
Depending on the time of stay, I'll either be out of town (but always accessible; there will always be a local point of contact for you should I be out of town) or in the city. I'm also a landlord for two properties in Atlanta that I've had for over ten years, so am incredibly responsive to any needs.
We had a fantastic stay in NYC the weekend before the Christmas holiday. Aubrey's home is VERY centrally located, with Union Square just a block away. The apartment is rear facing, offering peace and quiet without sacrificing natural light. She had a Christmas tree with automatic timed lights, a vintage bike decked out with garland, and other cute holiday decorations that made us feel comfortable and at home. The apartment is a true one bedroom, offering the perfect setup for those who want separate sleeping and living space. With our 14 month old son in tow, this was the perfect set up for us to put him to sleep in the bedroom, and be able to stay up watching TV and enjoying wine in the living room. Loved the historic character of the building as well, although if you do not want to climb stairs the front staircase and long one to the second floor could be a deterrent for you. All in all, a very special experience.
Aubrey was very prompt reaching out to us with all the necessary info we needed beforehand and accessing the apartment was very straightforward.
Thanks for a great stay, Aubrey!
