About this listing
Unique bed and breakfast in Queensland's stunning Scenic Rim, 20 minutes to Binna Burra, 30 minutes to the Gold Coast. Revive, re-energize, walk, read or just relax in our lovely home. Beautiful surrounds, glorious views and spectacular bird life.
Our 17 acre property "Oreocallis" (Mountain Beautiful) is 540 meters above sea level in the Gold Coast Hinterland. We built our home to capture the stunning views of the Scenic Rim (Mt. Lindsay, Mt. Barney and the Border Ranges) Set among big beautiful trees - Hoop Pines, Red Cedar and large Figs that attract a diverse bird life. We live in a cool clear clean environment that we love to share. We have planted for the wildlife and on any given day you may spot some of the 60 plus bird species, a Lace Monitor, a Wallaby or even a Bandicoot. You can stroll peacefully down our cleared track to a large Bamboo Grove and Spring Fed Dam. Its a short drive to beautiful Binna Burra National Park with the many bush walking tracks and a cafe or just a little bit further Canungra Township or Lamington National Park.
You will have your own private bedroom, beautiful bathroom and separate toilet. However you will be welcome to make yourself at home throughout the house, in the living area, library-media room and relax out on the breezeway as you take in the spectacular views.
Interaction with guests
We love sharing our beautiful property. We are more than happy to help in any way and enjoy interacting with our guests as little or as much as you like. We will provide you with a delicious light breakfast included in the tariff. There is a local Pizza/Cafe "Laurel Cottage" on the Mountain. However, Michael is a Chef and Barbara loves nothing more than to spend a day in the kitchen. As we are in a fairly secluded area if you would care to join us for an evening meal we are happy to provide this at a reasonable cost by prior arrangement.
We live in a very quiet neck of the woods. You can go for a walk and sometimes not see a soul. And the end of our road we are blessed to have a nature reserve so you can walk until your heart is content. As we are 540 meters above sea level it is much cooler in Beechmont than it is on the coast. We have electric blankets so you can hop into a lovely warm bed. We have an fireplace for chilly nights but we suggest you bring the appropriate clothing depending on the time or year you are visiting us.
You will need a car or bicycle. We have no local public transport on the mountain. We are 20 minutes to the closest shops restaurants and train station. We are 20 minutes to beautiful Binna Burra National Park with Cafe and many great bush walking tracks.
Other things to note
