We’re not a polished resort. Not even close, and frankly, that’s the point. The unit you’re staying in is full of quirks, creaks, and surprises that come with age, and you might notice that some updates are still waiting their turn. With that comes a rare chance to stay inside a piece of history.
We ask for your grace and a spirit of adventure. The space may be a little rough around the edges but full of warmth and soul. Your stay directly supports our mission to breathe life into the ranch.
The space
The Space:
There are two bedrooms, one Full and one queen size, to allow for a cozy space. You will find the quaint kitchenette stocked with all your essentials: induction cooktop, coffee pot, large fridge, large toaster oven. The view of the mountains from the kitchen / dining space is a wonderful perk of this gorgeous unit. Our local wildlife often visit us just outside the window, hence the nickname of this cabin, Deer Trail Cabin. It will be a great desert compliment to your morning tea or coffee. This beautiful stone unit also kept its original rock fireplace in the spacious living room. Our guests love to sit in front of the fire and enjoy their favorite board games or puzzles to enjoy their quiet and peaceful desert experience.
Tucson Mountain Guest Ranch – Stay with History, Heart, and a Few Quirks
Welcome to our little corner of the desert, where saguaros stand tall, time moves slower, and every crack in the adobe has a story to tell.
The Tucson Mountain Guest Ranch isn’t your average getaway—it’s part of a living restoration project rooted in care, patience, and deep respect for the past. Once a retreat for legends like John Wayne, Clark Gable, and Eleanor Roosevelt, the ranch holds decades of desert lore in its sunbaked bones. Most of the structures here date back to the 1930s and 1940s, and while we’re working hard to bring them back to life, it’s a process we’re taking organically and delicately—just a small group of folks with a lot of love for this land.
So come enjoy the desert, the old-world charm, the imperfect beauty—and be a part of something bigger than a vacation. Be part of the story.
