A choice of three unique spaces for singles or couples. Seaside location in ever more popular Lyall Bay close to all amenities including 5 minute drive to airport.
Come and stay at Waitaha Bay in a funky 1930's home with all the mod cons including cable television and wireless broadband internet, across the road from the beach and just minutes from some of the best surfing and swimming beaches on Wellington's spectacular and beautiful south coast.
The house has unrestricted views out to Wellington Heads, the harbour entrance, overlooked by the spectacular Orongorongo ranges which sweep down to Cape Palliser at the southern tip of the North Island before taking in the ever-changing hues of the Cook Strait beyond.
With the bus stop just around the corner, it is only a 20 minute bus ride to central Wellington or 10-15 minutes by car. Some of Wellington's most popular cafe's and restaurants are an easy walk away, or explore further afield by mountain bike. We also have a sea kayak if you fancy a paddle in the bay.
You will stay in the guest room, a unique recently built private addition to the house. This comfortable and cosy space opens onto a private, native plant-themed courtyard with outdoor bath.
Your bedroom also has native bush views, overlooking terraced gardens, a protected and serene spot, alive with the sounds of native birds, especially in spring and summer. Also a nice spot sling a hammock and enjoy the surrounds, or alternatively watch the world go by from the two-tiered deck overlooking the bay at the front of the house.
We also have a double pull out sofa in the sea facing sitting room as per the feature photograph. It is a comfortable space with the melodic sound and views of the ocean to wake up to.
The inside bathroom includes the washing machine and dryer

Sean and Remy were very nice. Loved listening to his travel stories. Thanks for all the directions to various places. I would recommend staying here!!
Dedicated host, delightful boys, delicious coffee, demonic cat, a lot of fun despite the wind. Thank you Sean.
Had an excellent stay at Sean's house. Yes, it has character, just like the host. Made me feel home. I loved the sea breeze on the veranda. I would come back when in Wellington.
Sean was welcoming and his place is charming, located right by the beach - the view is amazing.
Magical location, comfy private room and Sean was a great and very communicative host. I turned up very late and had to leave very early but nothing was a problem for him. Thanks very much!
What a great place! Amazing location, right on the beach and still so close to the city. We saw Eagle Rays from his balcony!!
Sean was very welcoming and his room was really comfortable.
An absolute pleasure to stay at this cool beach house with awesome host Sean and his super-friendly son Remy - not to mention the cat! I was in Wellington for work, but my week at Sean’s place felt more like a holiday – waking up to amazing views and coffees on the deck; impromptu conversations over dinner and a few red wines; skippering the support vessel (kayak) when Sean went paua hunting; working on the computer with a friendly cat on the keyboard (!). Both Sean and Remy are extremely friendly and made me feel welcome in their beautiful, atmospheric and comfortable house – thanks guys for an awesome time! Thoroughly recommended.
