One of two private cave apartments to rent in the troglodyte village of Goreme

HasanCave: Private cave apartments in Göreme

Sema Cave Flat

(See our other listing under Self-Catering Flats in Goreme)

Get down underground in your very own studio cave apartment in the centre of Göreme, the coolest cave village in Cappadocia! We have two private apartments under our house, Elif Cave Flat and Sema Cave Flat (see separate listing under Hasan Cave House in Goreme) which can be rented on their own or together for larger groups. Sema cave is sleeps up to two people in one double bed.

Each apartment has a fully equipped kitchenette and stone tiled bathroom. Guests have access to the house garden and terraces with a view over the weird and wonderful local rock formations. The kitchenette and fridge allow you to prepare your own meals with food from the local shops and markets, great for families, people with dietary restrictions and people who love to cook. Join us for woodcarving demonstrations in our cave workshop, music nights in our family-run restaurant in town, or just relaxing in the garden (where the wi-fi signal is). There is no TV in the flat, just the sound of noisy sparrows.

Göreme is an amazing town with lots to see and do. From your cave apartment you can walk 5 minutes to the centre of town with its lively restaurants, cafes and bars, or walk a bit further to the Göreme Open-Air Museum, a World Heritage Site full of Byzantine churches. Explore the gorgeous valleys of Cappadocia just around the corner, full of wildlife, archaeology and wide-open spaces, by foot, bike, horse, or balloon! Or shop for souvenirs, see a Sema ceremony of whirling dervishes, unwind in the local Turkish bath, then relax with a tea or glass of local wine. A short bus ride away are other cave towns to explore, markets, ceramics, and valleys to walk in.

We are not a hotel or pension, but we can help with information and booking activities, like balloon flights and tours. Breakfast is not included . The easiest way to reach us is by shuttle from Nevsehir or Kayseri airport- we can book one to pick you up and bring you straight to our place. There is street parking for those who arrive by car.

We welcome families and guests with young children can use our travel cots, potty, car sear and extra baby blankets.

Cappadocia is also beautiful during the winter months, when snow covers the rock formations and life is quiet. Our caves are centrally heated.

Please note that if you're planning to visit Turkey, you will need to apply online for an e-visa from the Turkish government website.

Great host and fabulous location. We loved Hasan's cave. It was cozy and well equipped. Hasan was even kind enough to let us extend our stay beyond the checkout time while we waited for our bus. This is a great choice for your stay in Cappadocia.

The host was/is amazing. He's very outgoing and knowledgeable of the town. I only wish I could have stayed there longer to really experience it. As for the space, what you see is what you get. And the bathroom is much larger than what the photos suggest.

My wife and I spent three nights in Hasan's Cave Apartment. It is comfortable, quiet, and convenient to sites and services in Goreme. Hasan arranged transport from the airport to our apartment, arranged a hot air balloon ride as well as a Whirling Dervish ceremony. The apartment is walking distance to stores, restaurants and the open air museum.

We enjoyed staying at Hasan's apartment. He was friendly and helpful in making reservations for airport shuttles to/from airport, green sightseeing tour, and balloon ride. We also had delicious, reasonably priced dinner at his restaurant. The apartment served our basic needs and was conveniently located to the village center.

Hassan was a great host! He not only arranged for an inexpensive a shuttle from the airport, but then greeted us with a warm welcome when we got to the cave flats. That night we ventured out and found ourselves at Hassan's restaurant - which must be some of the best food in town - we absolutely loved it! We hadn't made any official plans, so there, he helped us think through our next few days, and arranged for multiple different tours depending on what we wanted to see in Cappadocia. He even arranged a hot air balloon ride with one of the best air balloon pilots in the region on short notice! Hasan was always quick to respond when we had a question, and I'd enjoy staying at his place again.

The cave flats are absolutely gorgeous, comfortable and well equipped. Nice and cool too, no AC needed! We had everything we needed and more! Hasan and Diane are very friendly and accommodating. They even washed my clothes for me :) The location is great too-- walking distance to shops and restaurants. We rented a car and drove around most of the surrounding area-- my boyfriend and I agreed that Goreme seemed like the best place to stay in Cappadoccia, both in terms of the fantastic scenery and relatively small size of the town. We recommend getting a car as it allows for a lot more distance to cover. Roads are well marked and very well taken care of. I wouldn't change anything about our experience! Thanks, Hasan!

Hasan welcomed us when we arrived which was at 12am! He was very kind and gave us snacks and chatted with us. The cave was well appointed and very clean. It is very easy to walk from his place to the town center. And if your lucky, he may teach you how to play the local game of backgammon!
