About This Listing
Feel very at home on your stay in Amsterdam at this great apartment!
The apartment in a typical Amsterdam mansion is situated in a quiet street in the middle of 'De Pijp'. With the sarphati-parc and the Albert Cuyp at a walking distance you're surrounded by little coffeeplaces, galeries, shops & bars. Walking around the neighbourhood is a great experience on it's own, but other parts of the city are easy reachable too. Within 100 meters distance you'll find a tram that leads you straight to:
- Dam Square & Central Station
- The canals
- Museum Square
The apartment itself is an ideal stay for two people. It's 52 m2, light and has a balcony with sun from 11 o clock untill 6 (if there is any sun:-)). It's got a comfy bed for two, a kitchen with basic cooking equipment, a bathroom with shower, a cosy living room and access to wifi.
We're always within reach. We love to show you around and make you feel at home, so you can enjoy our lovely city like we do!
Suzanne & Jaap
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this apartment and its host, Suzanne! The room was beautiful and everything that we could have hoped for - sunny, hip, cozy. Five stars alone for the bed! I only wish we had more time to enjoy it.
The location is excellent, right in the middle of a really cool part of Amsterdam and only a block away from a bunch of fantastic restaurants, bars, and coffee shops.
Suzanne was an excellent host, meeting us late at night even though our flight got in around 10pm and leaving an incredibly helpful list of restaurant/bar/coffee recommendations! A city with as many options as Amsterdam can be overwhelming with all of the choices, especially if you're only there for a few days, but we had excellent food every day thanks in part to Suzanne's list. She even left us a little note card and bottle of wine when we arrived - it truly is the little things that matter most!
I loved staying here and would recommend it a thousand times over. Thank you again Suzanne!
Everything was great and as described in the listing. The apartment itself was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We also thought the location was ideal. There are a number of great bars, restaurants, coffee shops, etc... within easy walking distance. It is also an easy walk to the Museumplein area. The city center is a short tram ride away. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.
Except for the very small bathroom, which is not advised if you're claustrophobic (none of us are), we have absolutely nothing to complaint.
Everything is as described and if you're lucky to catch some sunny days you'll love the morning coffee in the balcony, as the sun directly hits it almost from sunrise until sunset.
As for the hosts themselves, we only met Suzanne which was very helpful and always interested in our tours and general welfare. Although we were quite independent in our choices, most made while planing the trip, Suzanne will leave you some notes about the best sights and places to visit, eat or drink.
She also left a very kind poscard and a bottle of wine!
About the neighborhood, exactly as described too. Very lively but yet much calmer than the centre, everything is closeby (supermarket, tram, buses, etc). Bike rental is 2min away, like 3 blocks, ridiculously close. One of the best coffeeshops IMHO is also in De Pijp, close to the market (can't remember the name sorry). It's really modern, confy and the staff was cool. Many other places will treat turists as thrash they will never see again (not only in coffeeshops), in the Pijp this never happened, people just seem to be happier there.
As we didn't get a single rainy day in 9 days (extremely lucky apparently) we just walked and biked all over the city. It's really easy to memorize the way back "home" if you stay in De Pijp.
Hope everyone else enjoys as much as we did! Thanks again Suzanne!
My friend and I had a booking at a different apartment, that unfortunately was cancelled very last minute. I sent a note to Suzanne, letting her know the problem I had come up with, and within a few hours she replied letting us know the place was available - she picked up this message when she was on vacation, probably hearing the anxiety in my note! Suzanne's place is really beautiful, exactly as the pictures show, and in an amazing neighbourhood - one I would live in, with cool shops, restaurants, and cafe's.
We arrived a bit earlier than the posted "check-in" time, but Suzanne was very accommodating. There was a bottle of wine, and pages of suggested places to visit! Only small draw backs were the bathroom is a bit tight, and the stairwell to get to the apartment was a bit steep. But neither of these items bothered us at all, in fact it added to the adventure of the whole experience.
I would definitely recommend this place, the location, apartment, and host were all fantastic.
Ottima e singolare accoglienza, posto situato a buona distanza dal centro (circa 30 min da piazza Dam), pulito e luminoso.
Suzanne molto disponibile e cordiale. Da provare!
This place is cool., i lived here for 4 days during my trip in Amsterdam, and it was a pleasure. Love the bed and the location, very convenient for public transportation and walking distance to the AC Market.
Suzanne is a nice host, she helped me changed the booking fast and nicely. Havent had a chance to meet her but can imagine how charm she is, as well as her BF Jaap.
Thank you and see you soon,
About the Host, Suzanne
Hi, my name is Suzanne. Nice to meet you:-)
My boyfriend Jaap and I live in a great apartment in De Pijp in Amsterdam. A beautiful place with lots of space we'd love to share with fellow travelers.
I work in Amsterdam as a marketeer at 1%CLUB (a little innovative NGO). We're both big fans of traveling & citytrips. Always in search of the 'local' perspective, whether it's Birma or Paris.
As your host I would love to tell you all about the great bars, restaurants, little coffeeplaces & local festivals you really shouldn't miss:-). We live in the same building as the apartment on AirBNB, so we're always near to answer your questions.
