Our permit No in the Greek Tourism Organisation (EOT) is 1167K(phone number hidden)
Two separated houses with a shared veranda along however with discreet privacy which have the ability to be rented together or individually.
House 1: 34,86m2 veranda 31,71m2
One double bedroom with a lot of storage space, one bathroom, one living room which could host comfortably two more people, by opening the two futon couches turning them into two extra double beds and a fully equipped kitchen,WiFi and fans.
And of course the hot spot of the house is the super privileged terrace with 180 degrees view of caldera, the whole Sadorini island, the volcano and Thirasia island on your right.
Free your eyes in the deep blue, chill in the terrace with meals and breakfast which you can cook in our fully equipped kitchen and save money from eating out every day. Enjoy some drinks at night in the most peaceful neighbourhood of Oia Sadorini. When the moon comes out this terrace is the best place to be and later on the stars seem like a dome above your head.
We have tried to keep the tradition of the cave houses and interfere as less as possible with the natural form so there is no separation of rooms in order to get advantage of the light in the whole house. The architecture is cleverly done preventing the privacy in each room.
You arrive in Santorini either by boat to the port of Athinios or to the airport by plane.
In both cases you have to take either a bus or a taxi to Fira and then to Oia or directly to Oia.
The taxi costs 30-35€
Once in the parking area of Kinotita (we are 220m from the parking 36 stairs included- you have to ask for the Red bicycle restaurant and the church of St Nicolas under which are located our cave houses, when you will get down the church from the stairs (facing the church the stairs are 5meters on your right) our veranda is on the the left side with the number 658
I recommend you also to find the map (under photos in the site) and please please please print it because is very detailed and it will help you the house is the first entering the veranda.
Here is a link for a real time video showing the way from the Koinotita arcade to the house
Because of the stairs our houses are not recommended for older or disabled persons.

The house is located next to the Venetian Castle, where people gather from all around the world to visit this famous sunset spot and no more than three minutes away from the main street where one can find all the shops, restaurants and art galleries.
Oia is a beautiful village best known for its exquisite sunsets. Ths streets are paved with old marble. Here in this delightful village many tourists come and rent a traditional mountain home called an yposcapho. It is a simple dwelling built into the mountainside with all the necessary but rustic accomodations. It can be a bit daunting to find your house in the dark on very steep mountain paths but the spectacular view is worth it. Many locals come to Oia for the excellent cuisine. Tavera Katina is at the end of the island (Ammoudi) and has an unbelievable view, and is just under the house 10 minutes down the stairs in caldera. A typical repast would be fresh fish such as lithrini, tomato kefethas, tzaziki and Greek salad accompanied by a local wine. This is an extremely romantic place that will be cherished in your memories.
A daily excertion to Akrotiri Archaeological Site will bring your thoughts to Plato's description of Atlantis

Two things may surprise tourists in Santorini. One is the abundance of cats: they are everywhere. (This is the reason we don't accept pets)
Be careful in feeding them because food attracts cats from everywhere. Another surprise is the lack of ecology and recycling. Unfortunately this a concept that has yet to reach this beautiful island, although the local children are now cleaning up the beaches
Rules of the house
Please read the following carefully
-For safety reasons (vicinity with the caldera) we cannot host children under 6 years old
_The water is very precious in the island so please try not to waste it .
__However it is not recommended to drink it, you better use bottled water you can find it in all supermarkets
_When you want to have a shower you can switch on the hot water ( it is marked on the electric board it takes 15 minutes to have hot water.
I recommend you to turn it off when you have your shower please don't leave it open (safety reasons)
_Please do not throw toilet paper or any other disposables or sanitary napkins in the toilet
As this will block the pipes . Please use the basket provided at the sides of the toilet.
_Please turn off the lights when you leave the house
_Please close the window before you leave the house
_Please close the umbrella before you leave the house
because the wind changes suddenly and when the umbrella it is opened it can provoke an accident by falling and if the wind is very strong it can fall to the terrace underneath our terrace so it can become very dangerous without surveillance .
_Respect the privacy of the neighbors
-Pets are not allowed (the reason above under "Other things to Note")
Thank you very much for your attention and co- operation.
Have an enjoyable stay
It doesn't get any better than this. The house has the best location on the island hands down. Fira is touristy. The southern towns don't have the restaurants. We spent five days in Andormahi's place and loved every second of it.
The complimentary bottle of wine Andromahi left was an amazing touch after a long day of travelling. If I'm every back in Santorini I would stay here again.
I would thoroughly recommend this place! Flat was as described, and like the pictures. The kitchen was very well-equiped, which made cooking for ourselves easy. The balcony, with stunning views over the caldera, was a great place for relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of Oia. The location was fab for exploring Oia, yet still felt like a place of calm. Although we didn't meet Andromache in person, we were in regular contact by email and she was very helpful.
We spent 10 days in Santorini for our honeymoon and stayed in this cave house. Absolutely beautiful house with an amazing caldera view. It is exactly as shown in the pictures! Beautifully decorated, very spacious. The terrace was amazing. We loved eating breakfast there in the mornings. Would highly recommend to anyone seeking a wonderful place to stay in Oia!
This place is stunning! We very much enjoyed our stay and were sad to leave. The location is perfect - right in Oia, but far enough away from the main road to feel private. As other reviews mention, if you strongly prefer a private terrace, this place is not for you. You do have a little nook that is yours, but you share with 2 other neighbors which we didn't mind at all. The house next to ours was a nice French family, and the far end neighbors are 2 French teachers that come to the island every summer - they were very sweet and we ended up sharing several drinks on the terrace. The interior is very nicely decorated and you have everything you need. It did get a bit warm at nights, but the fans helped.
Santorini is full of tourists and we happened to be there at the busiest time, but were able to avoid them for the most part thanks to a local friend. There is so much to explore on the island so I'd highly recommend renting a small smart car. Also, if you aren't in shape or have trouble walking up and down stairs, you may want to arrange help bring in and out your luggage as it's a bit of a walk. We didn't mind and were thankful for this though as you don't deal with the crowds.
Andromachi was available and responded quickly, though we honestly didn't need anything during our stay. We'd definitely recommend this place to everyone and look forward to returning!
Although we never met, Andromahi ensure that everything was in order leading up to and during our stay. The apartment is spectacular, is exactly as advertised and is in arguably the best location in Oia. If you have the chance to stay here, don't look any further.
Nothing but superlatives for the aesthetics of this place: The property itself is very charming & tastefully decorated, the view is worth every cent. It is also very well located: a little bit hard to reach if you are packing heavy bags (carriers can be arranged) but you'll be very glad with those few extra steps down those windy stairs for the isolation & quiet they provide you from the sunset hustle bustle of the main pathway above. I would recommend it to any couple looking to stay a few romantic nights in Oia if you take in the following considerations:
- Privacy is not always optimal, and you have quite a lot of contact with your direct neighbours on the shared balcony. This is not necessarily a problem though, in our case the friendly neighbours (from France and New Zealand respectively) proved to be both a welcome distraction for our kids and a good source of information on the island.
- During the high season, some parts of Santorini (including Oia) are very busy (overcrowded even) making it a bit like paradise and purgatory at the same time. If you are looking for peace & quiet, the tourist crowds (luckily well out of direct eyesight and earshot of your balcony!) awaiting you at the top of your climb to town can make the perfectly quaint & charming property feel a bit like a golden cage. The solution here: Why go out? Bring a good book and enjoy the view from your (almost) private balcony - it's one of the best on the island!
I'd like to close this review with a special recommendation for Andromahi: The hostess, although not at the island but continuously available by telephone/mail, was really véry helpful and considerate. She arranged everything remotely and was very attentive to our specific needs.
This is a great place to stay in Oia! The view is just as gorgeous as shown in the photos. The patio is shared with the neighbors, so if you are requiring a private patio, this is not for you. But everything else is great. The house is so quiet at night, we slept like a rock. It's located in a great area, so it's quick to walk to everything we needed. There is no tv, which was ok with us. The wifi is not a dongle (as I thought someone else previously mentioned) and it was fast and worked great. We loved staying here and highly recommend it. We were just 2 people, but the futon couches in the living room could be folded flat for kids. I'd say perfect size place for a couple or up to family of 4. Love this cave house!

I am an Interior Architect, I love travelling around the world meeting new people, finding out about new cultures, new traditions exploring different ways of thinking, behaving, and leaving. I am very intrigued and I admire every merging of thoughts, materials, landscapes, or different fields that might seem irrelevant or unrelated but they found a balance to achieve it.
I'm also very interested in yoga, taichi, and meditation (vipashna)
