Perched above Sunset Blvd in Silver Lake in an eco-friendly tri-plex ~ 750 sq ft apartment decked out for work or play. You have your own balcony, or head down to the shared yard and enjoy the California sun, late afternoon shade or a nice fire to warm-up the cool LA nights.
Balcony and views of the city run the length of the large, colorful, open-plan space that contains living - kitchen - dining. Private bedroom has a queen sized bed and full bath is supplied with quality products for your use during you stay. Full size futon sleeps another two in the living room.
Walk to the best restaurants, bars, music venues, cafes and shops in Silver Lake and Echo Park. Farmer's market 2X a week within blocks - and (website hidden) delivers whatever you forgot to pick up at Trader Joe's. We provide earth friendly laundry and kitchen products.
Perfect location for those travelling without a car - easy access to public transit. Bus stop within 0.1 mile is serviced by several far reaching routes and closest Metro station is 1.5 miles along Sunset and accessible by bus.
The apartment has its own full size washer/dryer off the bedroom, fully equipped kitchen, direct tv, fast wifi, central heat and a/c. Dining table, breakfast bar and a small desk area provide options for spreading out if you're in town to work.
We have solar panels and tankless hot water heaters - this year looks like a bumper crop of heirloom tomatoes and figs in our organic garden fueled by our composting worm farm. Chickens are on the horizon......
Guests are welcome to use any of the amenities in our back yard. Our only major rule is no smoking inside the apartment. You are welcome to do so on the balcony or in the back yard.
Stephen provided us with a detailed list of all the information we needed. Great view and location and a really really good deal. We loved it. The apartment was spacious and clean. Easy street parking. We would definitely stay here again.
Staying here was so much more enjoyable and affordable than staying in downtown LA ! Finding a parking space was never difficult; the neighborhood was quiet with well-kept homes. We were just in for the weekend and we didn't have any issues, so we never met Stephen in person. Access to wireless internet was not a problem. The pictures and description of his place are accurate as are his directions for finding the apartment. A great place to stay in Silver Lake!
The apartment was perfect for a Thanksgiving celebration my daughter and I prepared. Great location, especially easy to get to Sunset via the wonderful hidden Descanso Stairs. Loved the outdoor space and watching birds from the porch. Would certainly stay here again!
Stephen’s apartment is large, clean, and located just off Sunset Boulevard in Silver Lake, one of LA’s more neighborhood-like neighborhoods, where you can walk to cafes, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Food+Lab makes great sandwiches, and there’s lots of tasty, inexpensive Mexican street food. I found the location equally convenient to downtown, where I was attending a conference. Every morning I drove 10 minutes to the Vermont/Sunset subway stop, parked in an inexpensive parkade at the hospital, and took the subway downtown: no traffic worries, no expensive downtown parking. Running laps around the Silver Lake Reservoir was also one of the best things I did. Stephen’s apartment has a full kitchen, including a French Press for coffee, which allowed me to make breakfast every morning and enjoy it on the balcony overlooking the hills and downtown, while working on my tan in November. The balcony is really great. I’m glad I stayed here instead of the Westin Bonaventure, and would definitely return.
This was a great place for my in-laws to stay during their visit in L.A. Plenty of space and privacy on a quiet, safe street, but close enough for them to walk to restaurants and cafes on their own. We would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in Silverlake.
The apartment was bigger than I expected, and closer to a lot more amenities than I'd realised! A great space, excellent details and instructions from Stephen. No problems with wifi, directTV, and a nice strong shower. Parking might be a little tricky from time to time (but I was carless, so not an issue for me), but overall a great crash pad for my time in LA. Good amount of cutlery, tableware and glassware, plus kitchen equipment - and a plug-in kettle!
Stephen did a great job answering all of my questions and communicating promptly. I had all the information I needed to find, use, and enjoy the apartment well before my visit. The apartment was clean and comfortable and, for me, perfectly located. The weather was absolutely gorgeous as well. Thanks for the wonderful stay, Stephen, I'll be back next time!

We(Stephen & Amy) live in Silver Lake, Los Angeles, CA with our two sons and four cats. We spend many evenings enjoying sips of mescal with company while taking in the views of Sunset and downtown from our upstairs patio. We share a passion for tasty foods: sushi, fish tacos, the lovely dishes at Cliff's Edge, and whatever we come up with in the kitchen or on the grill.
