Space and peace -- two attributes you don't often get when travelling to tourism hotspots. Florence, even in April, is thronging with masses of tourists and even if, like us, you are tourists yourselves, it's GREAT to get away from them in the evenings. If you stay in Elly's place, you can. It's close enough to the main attractions to go back to your little home away from home to have lunch (great supermarket not far away) and even a little snooze before being a conscientious, hard-working tourist again. The apartment is at the back of the building overlooking a little courtyard and thus the street noise is greatly cut down. It's clean and well equipped. In short, it's a real gem.
We tried several of Elly's recommended restaurants and liked them. She clearly knows Florence well.
Overall we had a very pleasant stay. The privacy and spaciousness, especially after staying in hotels, is very hard to beat.
A great apartment in a non-touristy area of Florence. Lots of artisans working in shops nearby, and some great value restaurants within a couple of blocks.
We lost a passport in the transferbus and Elly was extremly kind and helpfull to communicate with the compagny and she´s the reason that we got it all back. During the stay we felt that we were in good hands.
Elly was the greatest. She met us at the apt. VERY pregnant, in fact she welcomed a new babe within 24 hours of meeting us. Walking up the 40 steps probably kicked her body into "delivery mode". In all of this she remained available, following up immediately with any questions we had. She gave us wonderful recommendations for sight seeing and eating. The apartment was just what my friend from Canada and I from USA were looking for. It was acurrately represented on the web page, wonderful location and bus lines. We are hoping to stay there again next year!!!!
We had a great time in this flat. It is right in the creative art part of Florence, close to everything but out of the main tourist area. And great local places to eat and drink and the flat is fantastic! We should have stayed longer! Elly told us here to get the best icecream and she was right! All other advice was great. Thank you Elly!
This apartment is great - perfect location, very spacious, with lots of windows. Elly herself was also super helpful. When she first met us she gave us a list of recommended restaurants and attractions along with a map. She was careful to answer all of our questions and remained responsive to email during our entire stay. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone else looking for a place to stay in Florence - it is only a 10-15 minute walk from all museums/churches/plazas and tucked away in a local area so that one is not bombarded by tourists in the immediate neighborhood. I also loved Piazza di Santo Spirito, a beautiful, lively little square that I probably would not have checked out had I not been so close to it.
What can I say about Elly and her charming apartment in Florence? She and the apartment are utterly charming. The apartment is clean and spacious in a nice neighborhood of Florence. Elly was very helpful and generous with her time and recommendation for Florence. We were centrally located and could easily walk to everything we wanted to see. There are plenty of nice cafes and restaurants in the neighborhood. We loved everything about the place. Thanks Elly!
