Just over 100m to a surf beach that is popular wiith locals on Sundays, attracting a range of snack vendors, the neighborhood is relatively quiet and peaceful during the week, yet close enough to walk to Sanur, and easily access most parts of Bali via the Ngurah Rai and Ida Bagus Mantra Bypass roads. We can arrange driver with a car or rental motorbike, or bicycles with prior warning.
The ocean-side pathway (ideal for walking or cycling) connects south all the way through Sanur to Blanjong, and north to the Ayung rivermouth temple. Otherwise it's more practical to get around by car or motorbike (rental available, we can help arrange) as our access road connects to the Ngurah Rai Bypass - 2km to Sanur, 6km to Denpasar, 25km to Ubud. The airport can be reached in 15 to 30 minutes with the new toll road. If you land before 8PM, you can catch the Sarbagita bus from the airport to our neighbourhood. Best you hop off at the bus stop AFTER the Sanur KFC traffic lights. We are happy to pick you up there (but you'll need to phone us when you get there).
To me, Nelokin Pasih is a perfect place to stay in Bali. I lived on the Island before – both in western-like houses and lokals’ kosts – but most of them are trapped within high walls (which is usually explained by cultural reasons here). This one is opened to a space rarely given in Bali…
The house is located just north Sanur, away from the tourists ambience, but very close to Jl. PyBass which will take you in few minutes or to Denpasar centre, or Sanur main road, or way up to Ubud. It is essential to get a motorbike or car though, without it you might feel like being stuck in the middle of nothing. Huge porch of the house is facing wide field and you hear the ocean waves just behind the corner. It is usually quite windy – fresh breeze makes the place much cooler than nearby Sanur and Denpasar.
It seems I was a first Airbnb guest so Kadek - together with his Mom, Sarita, who was my actual host - and I had to set few things up at the beginning but the whole family was very caring through all my stay, being discreet at the same time. Although the house is a part of a few-houses property, it’s very private and rarely someone steps in your way. I love the way it’s decorated, in natural and traditional style but without sometimes creepy Indonesian design. A wonderful combination of Bali with simplicity and sensible taste.
I only hope next time I’m coming, it wont be fully booked ;-)
