  • Great, quick stay. Very accommodating and a wonderful loft space. Hope to be back!

  • We had a great time in Milwaukee and enjoyed staying at Jori's studio. She was an awesome host and very responsive! The place was much more spacious than we imagined and furnished with everything that we could want during our stay. The location is in a loft building within walking distance of downtown and the sites. You should be aware that the location is close to the train tracks.

  • Jori was very helpful and we enjoyed our stay at the apartment while we were in Milwaukee. The location of the Apartment was close to the convention center which is where we wanted to be for the conference that we were in town for. If I come back to Milwaukee I would definitely consider using this location again as a place to stay in the future. Thanks Jori!

  • I had a wonderful stay at Jori's loft. The flat was very clean and comfortable. We could easily get to all the fun places in Milwaukee. Jori is a fabulous host. I would stay at one of her places anytime I can!

  • Needed a getaway from Chicago. Everything was great! The loft was simple with a great view looking east. there are train tracks outside, but the trains aren't going fast or honk the horn or anything. We found it to be pretty relaxing actually. Parking was easy. The TV is small, but we weren't in town to watch TV. There were snacks for us, which came in handy at 3am! The bathroom had all the amenities we would find in a hotel room. The bed was super comfortable and much nicer than our previous airbnb bed experiences. Check in and out was super easy. Jori texted us back very promptly and her housekeeper was splendid.

  • Fantastic place! The location cannot be beat, close to downtown as well as right in the middle of some cool bars and restaurants. The apartment was super clean and well equipt for all your needs, although it is a studio it was very spacious and there was more than enough room for 3 of us. The heated floors were awesome in the winter! Checking in/out was extremely simple and Jori was very responsive during the stay to make sure we had everything we needed. Would absolutely recommend to anyone heading up to Milwaukee.

  • Spent two nights in this charming and warm loft. Conveniently located and very pretty, the walls of the apartment are that cream city brick Milwaukee is known for. Also provided us with some yummy breakfast options! Great/Ideal!!!!

  • My colleague and I stayed here for a week on business in Milwaukee. Jori's son, Nico, met us upon arrival.

The loft is located in the Fifth Ward, just across the River from downtown and the historic Third Ward. If you are visiting the Global Water Center, it is only roughly 3 blocks away. We walked across the bridges on either 2nd/Plankinton or 1st/Water to nearly all of our appointments downtown.

The loft itself is spacious, with a very high ceiling, is very well lit, and has a comfortable seating area. No TV (there were remotes and a monitor in the room, but they didn't function). Radiant floor heating makes the floor toasty when it's cold outside. Jori stocked the loft with snacks and a continental breakfast - nice touch! Others have remarked that the loft is adjacent to an active railroad track (of course the loft is 5 floors up) - that is true, but I didn't find it necessary to use the earplugs I always carry with me (bring yours if you are sensitive to street noise). Other than that, we didn't hear a peep.

Within 4 blocks, you'll find a popular sushi restaurant, Stack'd affordable sit down burger restaurant (with lots of veggie options, too - try the mac and cheese with avocado or their signature baked beans), Colectivo - one of the the city's best known coffee shops, and a frozen yogurt shop. Walk up 1st/Water for a few minutes and you'll find the Milwaukee Public Market - no, that's not a traditional grocery - it's chock full of a variety of ethnic and traditional artisan food vendors serving both fresh (sit down or takeout) and packaged foods. Do not miss it! Free parking next door (get your lot ticket validated). Or keep waking up further into the Third Ward to find a variety of restaurants, bars, and shops.

If you opt for the indoor parking, be prepared to back your car up a steep narrow entrance ramp for about 10 yards - the space inside (the ramp leads down to a basement level) is small and there may not be enough room for you to turn your car around inside (so you will be forced to back it out).

Jori will leave you a set of phone numbers to call if you need assistance. We didn't need to. Her response to messages through airbnb is very good. In fact, she was proactive and messaged me before we arrived and during our visit in order to stay in touch.

I totally recommend this loft and would absolutely stay here again!

  • Thanks Jori! The place was perfect. I wanted to steal those awesome pillows and thanks for the extra touch of love with providing free snacks and breakfast! The area has fabulous dining options.

  • We enjoyed our stay there. It was close to downtown which was my favorite part about the loft. The interior of the room was very nice, spacious and cozy with beautiful paintings. I would recommend anyone looking for great accommodation to visit here. I will be looking forward to my next stay here soon!

Clarke grew up in Europe and loves talking to people using his language skills if we have a foreign visitor - German, French, Spanish, some Arabic, Italian and Portuguese. He can instantly make people feel right at home and happy to help with any visit recommendations. Jori has owned multiple software companies so loves to speak geek! We enjoy travel, kids, dogs, the environment, new ideas and tech gadgets - ok so maybe not Clarke on the whizzy do mechanical things...he still has our daughter program his cell phone and she's only in 4th grade. But hey, if the world floods he's your man since he is passionate about wooden sail boats and can sail anything that floats! Welcome to our city and we look forward to making sure you have a pleasant stay.
