  • Very welcoming hosts in this two-bedroom apartment steps from Golden Gate Park, and a short bus ride to the beach. C and K shared what they know about the city and were eager to help me enjoy my stay. They encouraged me to make myself at home in the kitchen too. The room itself was rather basic, not a place I wanted to lounge around in, but great for a home base. I felt safe and at ease, two very important things, especially for a solo woman traveler! I ended my long days of exploration by soaking in their fabulous big old bathtub.

  • Christine and Kristin's home was a blast to stay in. They greeted us promptly and with kindness, even though we arrived rather late at night. They were always there for advice, if we wanted it. The location for us was perfect, since it was so close to the bus and park. And, their home was clean, comfy, and a great space to stay. I would definitely recommend staying here!

  • We had an amazing stay with Christine and Kristin! The house is beautiful, the room comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need and everything was really clean. The area is residential so it’s a little bit out of the way from the main buzz of the city, however the no.5 bus comes right to the corner of the street and takes you downtown in 20 minutes so that was never a problem. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to meet Christine as our schedules were different, but we did meet Kristin briefly and she was lovely. She was really helpful with recommendations for cool places to go and she made us feel really welcome and comfortable there. All in all, a fantastic place to stay! We’d definitely go back there if we’re lucky enough to return to San Francisco.

  • Christine and Kristin were great hosts. They had the room ready for us when we got there, and were very generous in allowing us keep a few bags at their place after we checked out. There place is tidy and clean, the room can get hot if they are running the dryer but it didn't bother us since we weren't really there during the day!

  • So we arrived to meet Kristen. A lovely welcome to the place and a tour. We loved the house, there was nothing at all to grumble about. It is an excellent location, we walked onto the park every day. It has a few bus lines very close, of which are very regular! Kristen and Christine gave us advice on where to go and were very good hosts. They even laughed at Matt's jokes (thanks ladies). We would definitely stay there again and urge anyone looking for a place in San Francisco to come here!

  • Nice, lovely, quiet, cozy, charm... place.
We couldn't meet up with Christine&Kristin, what a pity!
The instructions they gave us about the place were very clear and easy to follow.
    Recommendable!

  • We stayed over a weekend at 'Stay steps from Golden Gate Park!'. Our hosts were Christine & Kristin, both of whom were warm, friendly, and helpful. Their home is spacious and pleasant. We would definitely stay there again.

  • Though we've been there only for two nights, we had a good experience. Kristin was a great hostess. She provided everything we needed and she was very kind to give informations.
The house is nice, clean, and the neighborhood is calm. Close to the park and to Presidio/Golden Gate. Good for those who want to stay away from downtown.
It's a small room, but very quiet. Just one comment: the mattress could be better. But I would definitely stay there again!

  • Kristin was a wonderful host to me and my 11-year-old son. Her home was everything we needed in a great location for exploring the city. The location, across the street from Golden Gate Park with a connection to the Muni just one street down, was very convenient.

Kristin's home is simple (that's a plus in my book) and tasteful. Our room and bed were comfortable and the kitchen and common areas were generously shared and perfect for how we like to travel (simply). The neighborhood felt safe and getting to and from the house was very easy.

In our comings and goings, we only ran into Kristin a few times over the course of our three days there. She was friendly and seemed like a really interesting person; it would have been nice to find some time just to chat over a cup of coffee! She was also very helpful with our trip planning, sharing info about local bike rental shops and even suggesting we have a round at the disc golf course across the street in the park, which turned out to be one of the fun highlights of our trip!

We're low-maintenance travelers and Kristin met our needs wonderfully. She's the kind of relaxed and friendly person I enjoy meeting when we go places. I am happy to have met her and am glad we chose to stay at her home for our adventure.

About
Personal Christine grew up in New York and lives in San Francisco with her partner Kristin who grew up in Arizona. We moved here from Boston where Kristin was an Airbnb host for a summer. She loved it! We like the idea of people working with people and taking out the middle man of a huge transnational corporation. Professional Since 2003, Kristin has directed campaigns for some of the most effective non profit organizations in the United States. She's trained thousands of people in grassroots organizing skills and have managed fundraising projects that have raised millions of dollars from tens of thousands of donors across the country. Christine is a communications czar for progressive non-profits. Currently she is the communications manager for the National Center for Lesbian Rights. In her role she makes sure there is a consistent message for the group across multiple platforms: press releases, social media, spokespeople. Christine graduated from The George Washington University and has a Masters in Public Health from Boston University.
