  • Michael's place is in a lovely area of Pizzo, close to bars and restaurants, and with a heartbreaking view of the Calabrese sunset over the roof tops. If you are looking for a cosy, quiet and lovely restored flat, this is exactly where you have to go.
Unfortunately we didn't get the chance to meet Michael, but he is nonetheless a very helpful and reliable host.
Pictures do not really show how pretty this place is.

  • The apartment is nice and looks like it has recently been renovated. Furniture and kitchen is basic since this is a vacation apartment. The top floor can work as a separat bedroom so really you get two bedrooms and not just 1. The apartment sleeps 8, but there is only a small table and 4 chairs.
The roof terrace is small but fabulous and you get a nice view of the sea and the roof tops of old Pizzo.
The apartment is managed by a nice local british couple so any problems will be taken care of.
The people in Pizzo, the beaches in Pizzo and the food in Pizzo top anything you find in Italy. If you stay in Michaels apartment you don't really need a car since you are close to what you need. But if you are going longer distances or just dont want to climb up from the beach one day, take a tuk-tuk. Ask Michael for the driver Chichos phone number. You hardly ever meet people in the tourist business who take the comfort of his customers as seriously as him.

Teacher Primary/adults TEFL,
I am a retired teacher, originally of primary school students, then of adults, particularly those learning English as a second language. I am a Dubliner, born and raised here but I have been abroad, particularly to Italy where I lived for 3 years recently. I wrote a book about it. I enjoy football, tennis (played and watching), swimming and other sports but also reading and writing, films, music, songs and poetry. Good conversation and banter with friends are a pleasure. History, politics, and current affairs are of interest to me but not celebs and their doings. I don't watch much tv apart from sport, news or films. I am not as active as I used to be. I live near my 5 children and 3 grandchildren and am very proud of them. However, I am separated but still looking for love, though I can enjoy my own company too. Food and drink are important and I do cook. I like Irish , Italian, Chinese, Thai, Indian and most foods and drink beer normally or whiskey sometimes. I like to get out and do things rather than stay in the house. I have led tours of Dublin with my foreign students Motto: Older, Bolder, Braver, Wiser
