We're an Irish and Brazilian couple and have a great knowledge of Dublin and Ireland. We'll give you great advice on where to eat, drink, travel and party.
Our neighbourhood is relaxed and friendly, but located close to Dublin city centre, and very close to Aviva Stadium and the O2 for concerts and sports events. There are many great restaurants and bars within walking distance of the apartment. We are also located close to parks and the beach for recreation. Public transport is good with buses, DART and LUAS services all located neaby. City centre is 20/25 minutes walking distance.
To get here from the Airport, guests can take either a taxi and ask the driver to bring them to "Ringsend", alight at the Tesco Express, we live just overhead. We would also recommend guests to take an Aircoach blue bus to either "Killiney" or "Greystones". Alight at The O2 and walk in the direction of the river Liffey. Cross the bridge over the river and continue to Thorncastle St. At the end of Thorncastle St., you will see a Ladbrokes bookmakers on the opposite corner to your left. Go round this corner until you see the Tesco Express shop straight ahead. Taxi from the Airport costs around €25/€30, Aircoach return tickets cost €14, one way €6.
Guests have access to their bedroom, main bathroom, kitchen and living room, terrace and common areas of the apartment block. The kitchen is shared by the guests and us for cooking. Our bedroom is completely off limits.
Interaction with Guests
We look forward to getting to know a little bit about our guests, but guests are free to come and go as they please.
Ringsend/ Irishtown is a quiet yet vibrant suburban neighbourhood, just outside Dublin city centre. We have a great selection of pubs and restaurants on our doorstep while still within walking distance to the city centre. If you're staying in Dublin for a concert in The O2, a rugby or football match in the Aviva Stadium or a musical show in the Bord Gais Energy Theatre, we are perfectly located for all three. Other amenties close by include for Sandymount strand for walking or jogging.
We are located close to all forms of public transport in Dublin. 2 mins from a Dublin Bus stop for buses to the city centre. 5 to 7 minutes walk to the Point "Luas" tram stop, serving Dublin city centre and western suburbs. We are 10 mins walk to the DART station (light rail system). This serves the city centre and Dublin's coastline, ideal for visits to Howth, Dun Laoire or Bray for hiking or walking. Bus, Luas and DART services all connect to intercity train and bus services for travel to the rest of Ireland.
Other Things to Note
While the main bathroom is primarily for our guests use, we or visitors to the apartment may also use the bathroom on occasion.
Guests expected to keep the apartment clean and tidy, and no loud noise late at night.
No parties or late night visitors allowed.
It is generally a safe area but we would advise visitors to be security conscious when leaving the apartment, making sure main doors are closed, etc.
Smoking is not permitted in our home, only on the terrace.
We would prefer guests to eat meals in the kitchen/livingroom, and not in the bedroom.
No pets allowed.
No cooking after 9pm.
Great place, nice hosts! My flight got mixed up and was late and they were very understanding, check in and check out very smooth.
Clean, quiet room, use of the refrigerator, etc.
Nice neighborhood, good cafe downstairs, supermarket. Straight walk to the city center.
Brendan and Fernanda were extremely nice and personable! Brendan was there to greet me upon my very easy and stress-free arrival from Dublin Airport. It is so easy to catch the air shuttle and walk to his apartment. The apt. is also an easy walk to a train that takes you anywhere you would like to go in Dublin, and there is also the bus at the same transportation terminal right near the home. The room was very clean and there is a private bathroom just across the hall from the room. Brendan and Fernanda have their own room in the house and their own bathroom, so everything is very private!
I would recommend to stay with Brendan and Fernanda to any airbnb'ers considering!
Both Brendan and Fernanda are very nice people. They will leave you be if you want to but I had the chance to hang out with them and it was grand.
The room is cosy and sunny, and the appartment is well located. The city centre is around 15-20 minutes away, it is a nice walk.
A great stay in Dublin, would definitely go back
Brendan and Fernanda were very welcoming hosts. Helpful recommendations and knowledge on the city. The room is comfortable and the apartment well located for the city centre and especially the Avila stadium.
About the Host, Bren & Fer
We're an Irish and Brazilian couple and love our area. We love living in Dublin, but like to travel too. Hoping to meet some interesting travelers through Airbnb and find out more about the world. It's good "craic" round here at ours so don't be shy, c'mon and book.
