Interaction with Guests
Karen's house is located next to the Guest House sharing the same 1 1/2 Acre Lot. If she's not home, she can usually be reached at work in Victor, NY.
Other than Karen's house, the neighborhood consists of seasonal cottages. Since her property is very level with the Lake and is twice the average Water front size, its just so awesome hanging out by the Lake. Log Cabin Point is a short private country road that ends near Karen's property. Its a lovely walk down the road to the trails in the woods where you can feast on wild raspberries or walk along the Creek.
Other Things to Note
It's a good idea to bring Water Shoes, if you have them, to protect your feet when you step on rocks or shells. A supply of Used Water Shoes of various sizes (kept in the Cabin) are available for your use.
Quiet, respectful and safe behavior. No smoking, fireworks or firearms. Cat-friendly pets are welcome. Leave by 11 AM on the last day of your visit.
Our weekend spent at Karen's cabin was everything that we needed! Karen met us upon arrival and was more than welcoming. Karen showed us around her property as well as the cabin, she even had a folder of places to eat and to explore. The cabin is as cozy as it looks in the pictures, and is just steps from the lake. Outside of the cabin was a table with two chairs and Karen had even cut fresh flowers and left them for us! We brought our own grill but there is a charcoal one there for your use. Karen has a fire pit down by the water with plenty of seating and she left some firewood for us as well! We made use of the pedal-boat and watched the sunset out on the lake. Karen told us to take our time and stay as long as we wanted on Sunday as well. Karen was incredibly easy to get along with and very kind hearted. Karen was respectful of our space and told us that we could knock on her door if we needed anything. The neighbors are also all very nice and even offered for us to come out on their boat. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend away from the stresses of work! We are already missing being there and would love to go back again soon!
This was the perfect spot for our travels. The cabin was delightful. Karen thought of everything to make us feel like we wanted to stay longer.
There were so many spots right there at the lake where we could just relax. Quiet, great views, and wonderful weather.
Karen's place by the lake is pretty sweet. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome, even setting out some fresh cut flowers from her gardens. The place is small, but cozy. It was a hot evening, and Karen provided us a nice oscillating fan to keep us cool. Thanks, Karen!
The cabin was as advertised. A very simple getaway right next to the lake which is exactly what we were looking for! We had little contact with Karen due to schedule mismatches but all of our interactions were great and she arranged for someone to greet us when we arrived. Would love to stay here again!
We had a wonderful time at Karen's cabin. Karen gave clear directions for getting there and when we arrived, though she was at work, she had asked a nice neighbor to welcome us and show us around. We felt immediately at home and enjoyed a lovely sunset and camp fire by the lake that very first evening. Karen was friendly and accommodating with the perfect amount of both helpfulness and privacy.
I can't complain about any aspect of the cabin. The price was affordable. There were supplies for simple cooking, cleaning, bathing and playing. In the morning, the lake was very peaceful and quiet -- a wonderful place to rejuvenate. In the afternoon, we had use of the paddleboat, life jackets and dock. In the evening, Karen provided firewood for a campfire. At night the heater kept us warm even when it was quite chilly outside. She also told us about wonderful spots in the vicinity like Naples, NY and some waterfalls off the beaten path. We would recommend Karen's cabin to any of our friends.
Karen accepted our reservation quickly and arranged for us to be welcomed by her partner. However, although we arrived as scheduled, no one was there to greet us. Karen was very apologetic and was able to walk us through the grounds by phone. The cabin was as advertized and met our needs quite well. It was clean and tidy. The temperatures did not allow for fun on the lake but a peddle boat was made available to us as was the lakeside patio. We would definitely stay there again.
Karen was an awesome host! She was very knowledgable on the area and surroundings. The cabin was nice and cozy and the lake ambiance was beautiful! We took the paddle boat out and was invited to stay as long as we would like (vs. getting out right at 11am). We arrived a little late so we were very appreciative. We grilled a fantastic meal and were able to have a fire right by the lake at night.
This is as close to nature/camping as it gets. THANKS KAREN!
