Interaction with Guests
Karen's house is located next to the Guest House sharing the same 1 1/2 Acre Lot. If she's not home, she can usually be reached at work in Victor, NY.
Other than Karen's house, the neighborhood consists of seasonal cottages. Since her property is very level with the Lake and is twice the average Water front size, its just so awesome hanging out by the Lake. Log Cabin Point is a short private country road that ends near Karen's property. Its a lovely walk down the road to the trails in the woods where you can feast on wild raspberries or walk along the Creek.
Other Things to Note
It's a good idea to bring Water Shoes, if you have them, to protect your feet when you step on rocks or shells. A supply of Used Water Shoes of various sizes (kept in the Cabin) are available for your use.
Quiet, respectful and safe behavior. No smoking, fireworks or firearms. Cat-friendly pets are welcome. Leave by 11 AM on the last day of your visit.
We were looking for a last minute rental in the Finger Lakes and we were so lucky to find Karen's place!
She was quick to respond, totally friendly and welcoming and the lakeside cabin was beautiful. It was clean and absolutely filled with amenities. We had a campfire two nights in a row right on the lake and we even found Karen's little surprise game (The Ungame, look for it, you won't regret it) and had amazing conversations all night because of it!
There are lots of cool places nearby that Karen showed us in her adventure binder and we were happy to have a perfect getaway waiting for us when we got back from roaming.
There is a wonderful little kitchen to prepare food in and and everything you could possibly need is provided (she even had extra water shoes I borrowed to go walk in a nearby waterfall!).
There is also a wonderful paddle boat and life jackets so you can take a little paddle around the lake. Awesome.
This was our first AirBnB experience and we are totally hooked now thanks to Karen. If you ever need the perfect spot on a lake for a relaxing retreat, this is definitely it!
Karen's log cabin was certainly a unique experience! It definitely has the basics- shower, mini-fridge, etc- but the toilet is only separated by the rest of the cabin by a small shower curtain, so if privacy is something you're after- might not be the place for you. We stayed as a couple so the layout was fine with us- made a great little bonfire and loved using the paddleboat out on the lake.
Overall,a great little spot that was fine for 'roughing it' without going full on into the camping experience. Only negative I'd have to share is that the bed was *extremely* uncomfortable- basically felt like we were sleeping on a box spring. But for one night under the stars, it was fine. Karen was very sweet and easygoing.
this was a fantastic experience. karen was extremely helpful, had a little binder of things to do in the area, and was more than accommodating. the property itself is beautiful, quaint, minimalist and is in an awesome location.
Karen was such a nice and hospitable host to my girlfriend and I during our stay at her guest house! When we arrived late at night she had lights and lanterns out for us so that we could see our way to her house in the dark, and she set out beautiful flowers for us by the entrance to our cabin. She was soo sweet and an absolute pleasure, anything we needed at all she provided.
The room is spare but had plenty of room for us. There is a kitchenette with a small fridge hot plate and microwave that served all our cooking needs and the lake is right at your doorstep. Karen has a paddle boat and all sorts of lake toys you can take out too.
At night grilling and star watching, during the day a respite from the city in a secluded beautiful spot on one of the Finger lakes. What more could you ask for? Karen's place is an absolute find for anyone trying to get back to nature and relax in a peaceful setting.
Our stay at Karen's was pure bliss. We arrived in the midst of a heavy downpour. Within an hour, the weather had changed for the better and we were able to take a long boat ride. On a Thursday evening, we had Honeoye Lake all to ourselves. Sitting in the middle of the lake, we could hear the birds in the distance and nothing else but the occasional jet far overhead. We ate breakfast by the shore, watching the waves gently lap against the rocks. Yes, you are out in the woods here, but we never lacked for comforts. We self-catered, but there are plenty of places to eat just a few miles away. There is a coffeemaker, microwave, toaster oven, fridge, and hot plate in the room. Karen provides silverware, plates, mugs, you name it. This is the first time I have ever experienced AirBNB envy: I would trade places with Karen in a heartbeat. Karen is a gracious and thoughtful host. I only wish that we could have stayed longer.
My wife and I had a great time at Karen's cottage. The accommodation is just steps from the lake, in peaceful surroundings.
We used the peddle boat on the lake and had a BBQ at night.
Karen was reliable and gave us tips on what to do and see in the area.
A great getaway if you want some peace and quiet in beautiful natural surroundings.
My stay at Karen's cabin on Honeoye Lake was very nice. I was in the area on business so I knew I would only be there in the evenings. I really just wanted a nice place to sleep and to be by a lake. Well, her property on the lake is so lovely! Both evenings I sat by the lake, watched the sun set over the lake, saw the myriad of stars appear... even shooting stars both nights!! It was so relaxing!
One morning there was a light rain and she even has a spot with a large overhang with a little bistro table where I got some work done as the rain fell... did I mention relaxing?
Karen offered many things that I didn't have time to take advantage of... firepit, grill, a whole booklet of things to do in the area. She did take me out on her paddle boat though and we had fun checking out the lake side of a few houses on her lake as the sun was setting.
the cabin accommodations are rustic but complete. Fridge, microwave, pans, dishes... there were more kitchen things than I was expecting.
All in all it was a lovely visit. Her directions were very clear, she was right there when I arrived to greet me and we had a nice chat one night by the lake.
