Aaron has put a great deal of effort into establishing his rental as a delightful, spacious and welcoming base for a stay in the Puna area. It is perfectly located for visits to the Volcano National Park, local hot pools and tide pools. The house (incredibly equipped with condiments, utensils, all you need) has a fabulous lanai, is clean, cool and quiet - with the exception of the various critters singing through the night. It is located in a quaint community that has the feel of a previous era when hippies hitched-hiked with abandonment, seemingly unattached to the world about them. We highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to spend time in the Hilo/Puna area. Our only caveats - bring mosquito repellent as the bites are vicious even though their numbers are few ... a good thing considering the property sits on the edge of a rain forest. Also, the drive into and from Kapoho/Pahoa area can require considerable more time than anticipated due to heavy traffic and construction. However, these inconveniences are more than compensated for by the graciousness and attentiveness of the host, Aaron, a charming, knowledgeable and soft spoken young man. He filled the house with orchids, checked on our needs and well being, provided information regarding local sights...was a perfect host.

Our family (parents and 2 young kids) had a wonderful stay at Aaron's place. It was comfortable, clean, quiet, and reminiscent of the local hawaiian lifestyle I grew up with. This was a perfect base from which to introduce our kids to the 'local' side of the island. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxed casual property close to many of Hawaii best adventures. Thanks Aaron! See you next time.

We had a great time at Aaron's place. It was the perfect location for exploring the Puna area. It has a lovely lanai overlooking his lovely gardens. Aaron was always ready with tips and ideas for enjoying the area and getting the most of our stay. The house had everything we needed, plenty of towels, some extras for the kitchen. We would definitely stay hear again.

Me and my parents spent five nights at Aaron's place. It's perfect if you are looking for something a bit secluded and explore the east side of the island. The place itself is very cozy and comfortable, equipped with everything you might need during your stay. Aaron is a great host, very friendly and helpful. He puts flowers and fruits into the apartment, a very nice and welcoming gesture. I would totally recommend this place again!

The place is great, just as described. It's airy, lots of space, great terrace. We haven't met Aaron, but he was very responsive on messenger, friendly and accommodating. The location is great - serene village setting, you can walk to tidal pools, one of the best snorkeling spots on the island. Restaurants and shops are 15 min drive away.

A wonderful private location - with great access to the lava tide pools, places to run/jog, 5 minutes to the heated lava natural pool (should have gone to that every day instead of only last), and 15 mins to a good selection of restaurants/grocery stores. If you want to get away from everything, but still be close enough to explore Hilo, Volcano National Park etc, this is a great spot. House was easy to stay in, comfortable, had all the basics we needed for 5 days (and more - kitchen is quite stocked). Easy communication with Aaron (even though he was many time zones away at the time).

Beautiful spot on the southern part of the island. Aaron's cozy home is nested in a lovely garden just a few walking minutes away from the tide pools. Lovely terrace to spend the evenings or enjoy our breakfasts, the house had everything we needed. The little details: coffee, tea, fridge filled with many sauces, and even water shoes to get inside the ocean are those details that makes an Airbnb experience a different one. Thanks Aaron!

Aloha, I'm Aaron. a 33 year old veteran from Buffalo, NY. The Army brought me to Hawaii in early 2001 and when I finished I moved over to the Big Island. I ended up falling in love with Kapoho and vowed to retire there. I purchased my house in late 2007 and have worked extremely hard to make it what it is today- and a part of my ideal for tomorrow.

I'm a very easy going guy who is really into gardening and just being out in the Ocean any way I can. swimming, fishing, floating, or sunning, I'm there! I try to share the Aloha in all of my travels, and I like to think that I've brought it all back to my house for everyone to enjoy too!

Mahalo for considering my property, I hope you can enjoy my home in Kapoho as much as I do! E Komo Mai! ;)

Little thank you to all of the people in my life that have helped, pushed, pulled, and otherwise positively effected me. Much love!
