This was a fantastic and welcoming property. At "check-in" Ellen showed us around the property and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. She had even gone so far as to making us a delicious treat that was waiting in the fridge and had provided tables for us in the garage knowing our boys were there for hockey and would need to dry their gear.
Ellen checked in again our first morning and made sure everything was good (which it was) and we went about our weekend of hockey and relaxing. This property was so much better than simply utilizing hotel accommodations and for a few days was our home away from home. The house itself is quaint yet very spacious and comfortable. Literally everything you need is there from cutlery, to dishes, to appliances to spices, plastic wrap etc etc. If ever in the area again and in need of accommodations this would be our first choice.
Staying at the country guest house was a great experience. Ellen made us feel very welcome, greeting us when we arrived and showing us around her cozy property. The entire space is clean, bright and well organized offering every thing we needed for our brief stay. In the morning sunlight streamed in and the views of mountains across the misty blueberry fields gave us a great start to our days. Although the house is short drive into the county from town, restaurants and businesses are easily accessible by car. Our visit was short but if I need a place to stay in the Abbotsford area again will certainly seek this one out.
Let Ellen and Bram share the good life with you! They were extremely gracious and hospitable hosts, and their charming guest house speaks of quality and style. Ellen met us in the driveway, gave us a tour, and had even prepared a Dutch treat for us. My family and I would love to come back and visit this delightful retreat.
Lovely residence. Spacious and clean. Ellen left us a delicious treat in the fridge and was quick to respond when we had an issue with the wi-fi. Very private and quiet. Although there were only 2 of us, 6 people could stay here without feeling crowded. Nice view.
Ellen was wonderful and very accommodating of all our needs. Everyone thought the house was very cute and loved staying there! Thank you Ellen!
Ellen welcomed us with a jar of her delicious home made jam. The house is beautiful, clean and spacious, and was perfect for us! Very close to Abbottsford, yet far enough into the country to be peaceful and quiet, and with a beautiful view of the valley and mountains.
I highly recommend staying here.
The location was perfect! The house was clean and cozy and the views were amazing. Lots of room outside for our visiting grandchildren to play. Ellen was very friendly and welcoming. She had a decorated Christmas tree up that was much appreciated for our family gathering, celebrating a late Christmas. We very much enjoyed our stay.
I immigrated to Canada 12 years ago from Holland. Since then, many family members have come to visit us where they have enjoyed the beautiful guesthouse. When I do not expect any family to visit, I have it available for anyone who enjoys country life, but not be too far from the city. My husband and I run our own greenhouses at a different location. We grow red, orange and yellow sweet bell peppers, spray-free and biological controlled. I have my own little veggie patch at home where I grow potatoes, onions, leek, beans etc. I love to be outside and work in my garden. There's just something peaceful about it. Flowers are my other passion. I do the occasional wedding flowers/decor. So many fun things to do, not enough time.... Now that my kids are all grown up, I have a bit more time to do what I love: gardening, cooking and meeting new people!
My motto for life is: Speak life, speak love, speak hope, speak!
