First, I will echo all the positive things that have been mentioned by other reviewers. Great location, well equipped little kitchen, wonderful views, etc. On site manager Dave was very helpful and available. However, I could give only 4 stars instead of 5 for the following two reasons: 1. Noise - the adjoining apartment is separated by a thin wall and a simple wooden door. We could quite clearly hear conversations from our next door neighbors. Perhaps some would not be bothered by this but it felt like an invasion of our (and their) privacy. 2. Windows - only 3 of the windows could be opened, none in the second floor loft. We were there during a warm week, and this made the loft un-usable for us as it was extremely hot and stuffy, even with the fan. We were able to sleep downstairs since it was just two people, but a larger group would have to deal with the heat. Even so, it would have been nice to open more windows downstairs to take advantage of the mountain air. Overall we had a great stay, but with these two issues I'm not sure we would stay again on a return trip to Murren.

We visited Murren in Jungfrau region in end of July for three days and stayed at Nancy's property (chalet). Murren is a picturesque village and views of three peaks (Eiger, Monk and Jungfrau) from the chalet were amazing. The chalet is very close to the station (trains to Lauterbrunnen) and 10 min walking distance from the Coop market (the only market of the village). Funicular to Gimmewald and Schilthorn are 15 minute walking distance away. The chalet is located in a very quiet area on a mountain slope (like all other chalets), and one has to go up stairs from the road. It was well furnished and stocked house, kitchen has all sizes of pans, frying pans and utensils with two coffee makers (filter and french-press), hot water kettle and toaster. Coffee and few basic spices like salt and pepper were provided. It has a small fridge, office size, but it was sufficient for our 3-day trip. It has a Murphy bed for two and two single beds in the loft, so good for my family of four. All beds were comfortable and linens were clean. House including bathroom and kitchen were meticulously cleaned. Hot water was available 24 hr. It also has a separate storage area for luggage, skiis and bikes, etc. Dave, the property manager, and his wife were very helpful and provided the cords that we forgot to bring for our electronics, and they live in neighboring chalet. I communicated with Nancy during booking and before arrival, and she was responsive and helpful. In short, we enjoyed our trip to the region and one of the reason was Nancy's scenic and comfortable chalet.

We could not be happier with our stay at Nancy and Beat's place in Murren. It was the perfect home base for our amazing adventures in the mountains and around Interlaken as well. Murren is picturesque and a little quiet but it also offers great dining options. The chalet we stayed in offered all the amenities we needed. Can't wait to go back someday!

We thank Nancy and Beat for an amazingly and charming place. We were lucky to meet them there since this was their once a year visit to Murren from Salt Lake city. We also met their daughter's family with their precious babies. Nancy kindly came to greet us and shared with us her favorite hike and Beat was kind enough to take our picture. It was very close from the Murren train station and easy to find. The outside stairs were steep and a bit challenging to carry big suitcases but the kind manager helped us to manage it. The view from the balcony was really breath taking and the studio was much more than we expected. There were 3 of us and I was a little worried that there wouldn't be enough space but it was a very comfortable space downstairs and the loft was fine for two people to sleep. The bathroom was pretty big and it was really nice to take a relaxing bath after our long hikes every day. The kitchen is very small but we had everything we needed to cook and we made breakfasts and fixed our picnic lunches every day, even cooked some dinners, which we ate on the balcony. The Co-op and meat shop were less than a ten minute walk. Don't forget to bring a shopping bag when you go, there are shopping bags in the pantry. The downstairs Murphy bed that my mother slept on was very comfortable and even the two small beds in the loft were nice and comfortable too. I know Murren is under the snow more than half the year, so the loft windows are sealed and cannot be opened, so it did get very warm and dry during the night and we wished we could have opened a window. Downstairs was always very comfortable we were able to open many windows and it had an ceiling fan. My husband and I loved Murren when we visited 7 years ago and so we invited my 76 year old mother from Japan this time. We really had a great time. My husband was a little uncomfortable with the number of stairs and the loft, but I really liked this charming studio and would like to come back again!

This place is from a dream! From the cozy feel of the inside of the chalet to the incredible views from outside. It was just perfect! Very relaxing and quiet. The kitchen had everything you need to make a nice meal and the studio was very warm and welcoming. Beat and Dave were super helpful at all times, always trying to find an answer to every question you might have. Also the chalet is children friendly as we found many families around with little children. This is definitely how an Airbnb experience should be!

Murren is an ideal town in the alps - close to many good hiking areas, local restaurants, and endless views. The chalet was perfect for our stay, fully equipped with anything you would need for a longer stay. The view alone is worth every penny. Our check-in and instructions were very clear and organized which was nice. We can't wait to return!

My Swiss born (Murren!) Olympic skier husband, Beat, and I live in Salt Lake City where I am a Travel Consultant and he is a Ski Area Planner. We have 2 children. He grew up in Murren's 4* Hotel Eiger. At his parent's death, he inherited 2 superb view building lots on the north edge of the Village of Murren. During 2011 and 2012 he has built two chalets, now available for rent. We are avid skiers/hikers. Our family cherishes the extraordinary scenery and village atmosphere of Murren. We're excited to introduce/share it with other skiers/hikers/seekers of Peace, harmony and clean air! Nancy von Allmen
